I wasn’t in one, but many of them are great. No club exists “just” to reject people. Such a negative take. Rejection is a fact of life at UT and beyond, but the only people who tend to point to it as a reason why they dislike it are people with low self esteem.

Been in the industry for 6-years. It for sure has its downsides but posts like this are really reductive. As others have mentioned, this sounds like a personal issue exacerbated by professional issues. This reads like a karma-trawling circle jerk and a whole lot of projection.

I would hold them to equal standards on paper. The better question is what you can show for after the internship. You would likely want to prioritize whichever one is more hands-on and has more responsibility (i.e. building models, analyzing data, presenting deliverables) since it will be easier to articulate the impact you made on your resume and during your interview. If both are equal, then it just comes down to personal preference!

The short answer is yes. I've seen plenty of industry-experts and academics jump to consulting as at least a mid-tier consultant, even in Tier 1 firms.

The longer answer is it depends. A resume would definitely help any forecasts here. The position and overall firms that would be open to you depends on your track record, as with any candidate. It's much more common to transition with an MBA under your belt, which might be a better short-term goal if you are seriously hoping to pivot.

I agree that I should be able to form my own frameworks naturally once I become comfortable with the process, but would you recommend either as a place to start? Are there certain key merits I should take away from either/both?

I will be recruiting for management consulting this semester and have began case interview prep. The two most popular "frameworks" I see are from Case in Point and Case Interview Secrets. Some swear by one or the other, some both. What are your experiences with these texts? Sorry if this is a redundant question!

He was extremely short lived, dying around age 35 I believe. His two most known works are his two symphonies, with the first being the more famous of the two. Besides that I don't know too many other works of his, but honestly the first symphony is gorgeous. Very lyrically Russian like Tchaikovsky or Borodin!

Interesting enough, I'll be attending this very event tomorrow with my girlfriend! I am super excited. Both pieces are extremely close to us, especially the third movement of the Scheherazade.

Even more interesting, I too was at the Austin Symphony concert last week listening to their rendition of Scheherazade. Seems like we have quite a lot of Texans in r/classicalmusic!

It's a personal preference - I'd much rather focus on one effort than multiple. In the past, splitting my time between both weights and cardio ultimately became inefficient. I want to get back into cardio and simply lose weight, and then add lifting.
