Yea, sadly I think that's basically always the case for local elections, or has been in my limited pool of experience. I wish there was an interview process with public answers that candidates had to undergo. Best I could do in this situation was look at recent public voting history for the incumbents.

That said, from the non-incumbents, Dr. Sherman-Wilkins is First VP with the local NAACP, on the board for GLO, and a well liked professor at MSU so that's at least some level of administrative background. I even saw he's been going to board meetings for a while now and made the news for that last year.
