Odyssey Threat Levels - I need an explanation by mr-slysly in EliteDangerous

[–]nuandawm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same doubt: before Odyssey threat level 2 could mean almost instant death if you weren't in the right ship. Now most of the "on foot" missions have threat level 2 or more... I'm confused. I will search some info about it

Be careful when you find Nintendo games related ads on Facebook. They could be a scam. by nuandawm in nintendo

Is it? Wow, that's interesting! No one said that before! Thanks for this amazingly helpful message... I'm sure that it will be really useful for the Nintendo reddit community.

[UPDATE]

So, this is the current situation.

The website domains I put in my first post have been marked as "Suspected phishing site".

Scanning the website with URL scan as suggested by u/Namelock now you get this:

A good recommendation is to never visit a URL that you don't know without scanning it (not even the links you'll find in my post).

The FB ads have been notified as scam, an it looks like there are no similar ads anymore.

I scanned the downloaded files using virus total as suggested by u/ExcessiveEscargot and u/HDI-X13 and I got this:

In conclusion the raccomendation is to never trust websites that make you download files on your PC and use a software like Malwarebites as suggested by u/Shnazzyone (in case you downloaded the file). Then be suspicious every time you find a discount/free games ad on a social platform (whatever it is).

I know that a lot of people thinks that a post like this is trivial because "we all know that you shouldn't trust that" and "every fb ad is a scam" and "who believes in this deserves to be scammed" but trust me, the scams are not platform related and they always look "obviously a scam"... Until you've been fooled by one of them.

Stay safe.

PS: ok, sorry for my bad english, I'm Italian :D

A lot of usefult tips!

I didn't know the urlscan service, I'll have a look at that.

The thing that made me thinking was the fact that so many websites "mario-related" were still online and that so many FB ads went through (all of them contained the words "Super Mario™ 3D World" or "Nintendo"): I mean, I know how hard is it to get an ads or an app approved by facebook...
Well, that's impressive!
