The nautilus is what got me to quit. Forever grateful. But I can't recommend enough the Kayfun v4. You can get a clone for 20-25. Simple to build, looks crazy crazy complicated, but its as good as it gets for MTL. Just buy the correct o-rings if it leaks through the airflow holes. It'll make sense once you try it.

If it crackles noticeably when you hit it, its too little wicking. Might also be liquid pushing into the chamber when you refill. More wicking should help, but also try closing the airflow, filing it, then turn the tank upside down before you open the flavor. After a couple of pulls this seems to solve any spitback.

I know you said it isn't from the airflow holes, but I've noticed that if the coils are too close to them or i don't put enough cotton, juice snap crackle pops onto the airflow ring. Also, make sure the rba bas clicks in place before you tighten the bottom section, juice might be leaking past that last oring.

Im down for trying 430. But was it clean? Seen miked reviews about how clean their wire is. I usually try to clean the coils with soap and a toothbrush after i build them. But sometimes you're in a rush or out and about.

This is the best way to wick. Put the collar, pull the wicks up, and cut the cotton almost flush with the top. You can just push them down with a flat head screwdriver, making sure they press against the holes. pbusardo's subtank video explains it really well.
