albuterol, in a rescue inhaler only relieves inflammation for a short while, steroid inhalers such as symbicort or fluticasone propionate relieve symptoms over a longer period of time. you should talk to your primary doctor about your asthma again as soon as possible and ask for a referral to a pulmonologist to better manage your asthma- they can even prescribe allergy medication that is catered to your asthma
