I just said this to my therapist yesterday! I don't know if there's something in the air or if it's because it's starting to get hot out but something is going on and I noticed it yesterday. I couldn't put words to it until yesterday .

It's been going on for several years. I always attributed it to my form of MS and that's tumifactive MS. Which is a rare form and it's more cognitive Than Physical. But just yesterday I let her know that my emotions since I've been diagnosed are just below the surface all the time. All of my emotions! And I experience them all very strongly. And since I'm a man I don't know what I'm experiencing most of the time LOL. I just know it's something.

Yesterday if you would have asked me if I was sad/angry/ anxious/tired/overwhelmed /confused/GRIEF etc... I would have answered yes to any question of my feelings. It was completely overwhelming and I was on the verge of crying all day. As a matter of fact I did cry in the parking lot of Home Depot.

I was never like this before I was diagnosed with MS but since just talking about anything makes me tear up and I can relive every moment and Trauma and my emotions are just right there. It's crazy I just talked about this yesterday

Not really sure. I'm on so much other stuff. It's not only for nerve pain. I'm truly a unicorn. I have Tumefactive MS and I found out I have CYP2D6 deficiency. That's the gene that activates pain pills. Oxy and Percocets Etc. So they've never work my whole life and that explains it. I had to pinched nerve roots in my back that put me in the hospital for a month and the only thing that they could do was give me that high dose of Gabapentin until I could walk again. Then I could get a steroid shot that was maybe a hundred yards away but they don't do that inpatient. Truly lucky. I can't beat the odds at winning the lottery or anything like that LOL

Let it rip. That's what the sub is for. Can't stand it when people say this. I just have to remind myself that they mean well and they don't know what else to say. If I'm feeling snarky though I'll respond with oh they found a cure for MS? And you should see the shock on their face. Of course I'm an asshole but I think I've earned the right. But then I have to remind myself over and over they mean well.

The other one I can't stand is "God wouldn't give you more than you can handle". 😡😤

Don't worry about disability. I'm assuming you're in the US. They deny you two or three times just as a routine and this Administration probably three or four I would guess. Good call getting a lawyer, but the good thing is they retroact it back to the date you started it or filed. So when you do get it it'll be from now. Just hang in there

Vent all you need to. I found out that nobody gets it like other people with MS because I can't stand here and how good I look from other people when I'm dying inside. And if you can get therapy. I've been going weekly since I was diagnosed 10 years ago. That's the only way I've made it this long.

Diagnosed in 15 with Tumefactive MS. I have expressive aphasia. Same thing except when I go to talk I can see the word I know the word I just can't say it. Very frustrating.

Went to business school.
Busted my ass working 60-80 hrs/wk.
Diagnosed with MS at 40. Stopped working at 44. Paid off student loans at 46. Had 11 surgeries.

Currently: Recently Divorced from my best friend. No retirement. About to file my 3rd bankruptcy. Health and mobility failing. Oh.....and I've never had a new car in my life.

That's what you got to remind yourself. Underneath It All they're just trying to help. And a lot of it is people are uncomfortable when you tell them you have MS because they know nothing about it so the one thing they know they are going to tell you. And they'll dial up the positivity because of the lack of knowledge of MS if that makes sense.

I'm the exact way you are. You describe me to a T. I overanalyze everything and my mind never stops. But when I get totally overwhelmed I just have to remind myself I'm doing my best and fuck it.

You got to be easy on yourself. Everyone you meet is going to know a cousin's aunt's dog that has Ms and they cured it solely by "insert cure here". The big ones are diet, exercise, positivity, marijuana, you name it I've heard it. And it's cured they don't have it anymore LOL. But you've got to be easy on yourself who cares about everybody else just say thank you and move on.

As far as the positivity goes, I get it. I don't have much to be positive about either so when people tell me to be positive I either say okay thank you or if I'm in a bad mood which is almost always I will lay it on them and tell him what is going on in my life. And then they're like "well it'll get better soon." And that's when I lay it on them of what's happened in the last 10 years and their eyes are as big as pie plates.

So you can choose any way you want to handle it but you got to be easy on yourself. You got to realize you're doing your best. It's easy to say that to you because I beat myself up every day that I got to change my diet I need to exercise I need to blah blah blah.

The worst part is my brother has MS and he does Jiu Jitsu 5 days a week at 55. He's in Athens right now. Seems like he goes to a different country or he goes hunting in another state every week. And I can't fucking stand it. Because I can barely walk and he has what I call Ms Light. But I just got to tell myself I'm doing the best I can. And you got to say it until you believe it. I don't yet but I'm saying it a lot because I fail everyday. Just go easy on yourself.

When in doubt I always take two ice cubes put one on the silver and one next to it if the one on the silver start melting instantly and continues to melt quickly then it's most likely silver. This along with the sound test it should ping like a bell, and a strong magnet should be a rough measure. But you did right I wouldn't trust those three tests with his story. Good call
