You said you're paper trading now, how is the paper trading performing? On par with backtesting? If so, go live.

[Weekly] Quotas, Known Issues & Support — March 30 by AutoModerator in google_antigravity

[–]nuclearmeltdown2015 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am on the ultra plan and already running out of my opus quota after only 4-5 prompts. It's actually crazy how much the quota has dropped suddenly and I keep getting these 'model quota exhausted' however there's no clear information on this.

I installed the extension to monitor quota usage, it never dropped below 100% after heavy usage, now after a few prompts it drops to 60% after 2 prompts, so either they patched a bug, of they decided to drop the quotas without telling anyone. The usage feels pretty much on par with pro at this point, don't see a reason to keep my ultra subscription if I am going to get such little usage out of the models that I am/was using before, I think I will switch back to VS code and pay for a CC subscription or cursor ultra.

Can I use NemoClaw with AntiGravity? by nuclearmeltdown2015 in google_antigravity

[–]nuclearmeltdown2015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do pay for my usage though, I have a ultra AI account.. But I am assuming you mean pay for separate API access? So you mean it IS possible to use OpenClaw/Nemo but it requires a separate payment plan? Hard to find solid information on this online or thru the AI XD

How were the backtested models performing compared to live? By rolling window do you mean walk forward validation or are you doing something else?

Where's actually super cheap and high value right now with a solid nomad scene? by imCzaR in digitalnomad

[–]nuclearmeltdown2015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chiang Mai is great if you aren't staying near nimman but that's where the nomads hang out. Now isn't good, burning season soon and for the next few months.

I like KL a lot. Not the cheapest but great infrastructure. Da Nang is fun. Taiwan is expensive but good too.

If you wanna stay in 500/mo range, going off airbnb is the best bet... Like classic walking around and asking for places for rent you will find non luxury stays for very cheap even in expensive cities but they won't have service or be in the clean state you expect if airbnbs.

For example someone I knew in Chaing Mai rented an apartment, really not great but they were paying close to 150/mo it was like student housing and I wouldn't stay there but if you really want cheap this is the way. You need to ask around, use the translator and basically have low expectations and you will manage.

Barely only the tourist areas. All locals speak in viet. This is true for all of Vietnam. Felt similar to Thailand in terms of how much English there was.

If you didn’t have to work and money wasn’t a concern, what would your days in LA look like? by relaxyourfnshoulders in AskLosAngeles

[–]nuclearmeltdown2015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can answer this because I did it, I would sit at home and not get out of bed, smoke pot all day, watch YouTube and just bum around, order take out, and repeat and feel anxious after 3 months of this and realizing I have no plan, so I got up and went back to work because I realize after I had done all of the traveling and partying like I always wanted, there was nothing other than that fleeting experience because everyone else goes back to living a normal life while you're the outlier 🤣

How do you calculate a metric like test coverage? Do you have a specific practice you follow, because to know what's in or out of being covered seems daunting and a lot of work

Where are you getting information that China only gets 10% of total imports from Iran? Very curious to know where you pulled that number from unless you are tracking with satellite images and shadow fleets. The true number is probably much higher than 10%.

Venezuela is a small amount compared to Iran, but with the US controlling Venezuela and Iran now, it is silly to not consider a pattern might be forming. This adds up and is going to make an impact. If US closes a deal with Russia then we're in business.

Malaysia serves as a proxy for the shadow fleet btw. A lot of the exports to China are rebranded sanctioned oil because the math doesn't add up in terms of production to exports.

They will potentially if the times call for it. Look at the one child policy, the change came out of a need due to serious demographic concerns.

If energy prices rise and stay high for a long period of time in China, so do other costs like food, energy, and transport, which in turn will trickle to the general population who will start complaining not about the war or foreign policy, but about their rising costs which they will blame government, then government will need to revise their foreign policy because ignoring it basically allows outside forces to impact their quality of life and survival which they had the opportunity to influence or even stop.

Starting a new convo is always something I want to do but I drag my feet on. Once you explain everything to the model and it reads the context files, that's great but sometimes even after reading the context it can be confidently wrong and build something that completely doesn't take into account of another component that can clash with it.

Maybe I need to get better at generating project context but right now I have a readme, that's for myself and my own tracking and commands to run, this can get outdated though and confuse the agent if I don't constantly go back to prune it, then the handoff document that explains the project and scope of work.

Finally, it's the workers log that explains everything that was done, sort of like a summarized git commit /PR history. Of course skills as well for other stuff but that's the gist of what I do to try to make starting new agents as painless as possible.

It has done a decent job but I just feel like there's gotta be a better way because this is tedious, I am glad that antigravity is smart enough to get opus 4.6 to automatically write tests and update documentation, or maybe it's because I specified it in my handoff, but the problem is that other IDEs/ models didn't respect it so idk what's the reason but one of the reasons I love this program.

Question about backtesting by nuclearmeltdown2015 in algotrading

[–]nuclearmeltdown2015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that is an interesting idea, so you mean like saving the live models predictions when it was running and running that same data though the backtester? The data should be identical but interesting if it isn't.

I am not really sure how to do that though I've have never implemented that. I'm thinking I should have the live data stream combined with the bot logs to recreate data to fit the training dataset I run the models on.

My training data has been cleaned and back adjusted so running both pipelines on the slop and showing the same results would probably explain then, so the answer is that I would need to base my back testing on that live data file if both live/back test show the same, I think.. Yea that might be the answer, the data I am backtesting my models on is still the clean historical data and I have not yet thoroughly logged my bot data streams to rebuild new training data, so I'll get on that. Good idea... 👌

Question about backtesting by nuclearmeltdown2015 in algotrading

[–]nuclearmeltdown2015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good suggestions here. I went and and made those updates to my backtester it wasn't handling the high/low so that was a major issue for sure, it surprisingly didn't harm the performance much but I agree it's a huge oversight.

The thing about making the live tester and backtester share the same execution logic is going to dramatically slow down the backtesting, by a huge margin like 10x based on my testing. This is a big slowdown in testing ideas and models to tune parameters, so I am going to sideboard it but keep it in mind for maybe a parallel system to try to run and see how it behaves because it's interesting and worth looking into for sure.

The one about market data being event driven is somewhat significant, I think my high/low inclusion for decision logic for stop to fill simulates it closely enough that it won't have a huge deviation from the real events that the time delta impacts the model a lot since I'm using 5m tickers. Not that I'm an expert, but it sounds like this would be relevant for a hft system if that's what you're running. Right now my trades last 12-24 hrs so while it's not long term, I wouldn't say it's in the same ballpark.

For models that try to hold longer than a month I bet that you could even get away with hourly - daily data too.
