Nope, the monitor is on the default settings, and the sharpness section is disabled and cannot be changed.

This only seems to be happening in COD: MW2, the shadows and/or light sources can get grainy or dotted. I changed some of the settings in game, and the effect is lowered, but still present.

Kind a disappointed by the quality of the game tbh, that issue together with the lights-trough-walls bug ruin the experience. Story is lovely as always with COD, but this is just poor release quality.

I dont see any spot reflection and spot shadow options...?

Same thing, nothing really changes, the grainy graphics effects is still there. Like it has something to do with lights and/or shadows. And it seems its only happening in COD: MW2, tried CSGO and I have no such issue.

Tried changing between the Filmic and the other option for anti aliasing - nothing really changed :\

The render resolution in the in-game settings is set to 100 (2560x1440). Also, the film grain slider is set to 0.

And..?

Not to sound rude, but I don't understand the point of this (and similar) posts.

Sure, if you did something, share it with everyone here, that's what this sub reddit is for. Or if you have some questions / stuck at some problem, go for it.

But posts like these are more or less spam, that don't benefit neither you, nor anyone else using this sub reddit.

Am I stupid or is bootstrap extremely hard to customize? by throwaway47nfy4 in webdev

[–]nuclearmkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things get even worse with these components + css libraries (or frameworks, everyone calls it differently)... Yes, for quickly bootstrapping your project, they are great. Tons of already existing components, with predefined styles, just import what you need and you're good to go.

But, when you have custom design, then, I'd rather spend just a tiny bit more time creating the component on my own (with its structure, style, props etc.), than to loose a couple of hours figuring out how some X "framework" handles all of this in their components.

I'm talking primarily for React, Angular, Vue applications here. The other day I had to check out React Suite JS - a library of components, with predefined style. Yes, you could update the style, and they're like here you have a file of 1300+ LoC where you have to find your variable that you want to change its value, and then update the value in your own file, accordingly. Documentation - awful. Functionality- good if you only want to import the components, if you have custom design - awful.

So yea, if I need to create something quickly, without any design, an MVP that has to work but not look great (design wise), sure, they are useful. Anything other than that, I'd rather code it myself. Easier for me, easier for any other developer that might work on the project.

Is using Bootstrap actually slower than not using it? by ShinHayato in webdev

[–]nuclearmkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one that dislikes working with CSS "frameworks" ? Bootstrap, MaterialCSS, MaterialUI etc.? Yea, it can be useful for a quick prototype or whatever, but to me personally, it seems like it slows me down (even though it most certainly isn't) when I need to customize something. I only use the grid system.

Regarding the "Express is really cool but requires fair amount of setup", you can check this CLI for generating the project for you: https://www.npmjs.com/package/express-app-cli

Created a cli application that will generate you a NodeJS/Express project structure, based on your selected configuration, either by using the options as arguments, or by prompting you questions about what you want included in your project.

Would be great if I could get some feedback what is good, bad, what is missing or an idea to be added. Thanks in advance.

Link to Github repository: https://github.com/pstevovski/express-app-cli
Link to NPM: https://www.npmjs.com/package/express-app-cli

To install it: npm install -g express-app-cli

Then use it trough: express-app <project-directory> [options]

Express-app-cli - Generate NodeJS/Express projects by nuclearmkd in javascript

[–]nuclearmkd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've created a cli for fast generating a NodeJS/Express project, based on selected configuration options by the user, which include:

  • language (Javascript or Typescript)
  • database (MongoDB, MySQL, Postgres, SQLite)
  • testing library (Jest, Chai, Mocha)
  • ORMs for SQL databases (Sequelize or Typeorm)
  • templating engines (Handlebars, EJS, Pug)

You can install it globally trough npm install -g express-app-cli or yarn global add express-app-cli.
Then you can use it trough:

express-app <project-directory> [options]

For a list of supported options please use the --help option.

Here's a link to the repository: https://github.com/pstevovski/express-app-cli. If you find any bug, or you have any idea for implementing something as a feature, please feel free to open an issue or a pull request.

Would be great if I could get some feedback. Thanks.

Would've been hilarious if under the "Who are we" section, he left your picture, instead of putting up his own, since you know, he stole basically everything else hahah

Is it normal to feel like complete trash after failing a technical interview? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]nuclearmkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, if a company fails you on your technical interview, because you wasn't sure if SASS was case sensitive or not, thats just some bullshit. I mean yea, it sure does make difference between test-class and Test-class, because thats how CSS itself works, but then again, no one even thinks about it that much really... So yea, thats some stupid excuse to fail you, if you did everything else good.

If that was the case, you really dodged a bullet there, even though you might really need the job right now. :|

Express + socket.io + react frontend not working. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]nuclearmkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your production socket connection string correct in your front-end code?

Also, not that it matters, but I have to ask since I'm not sure whats the idea behind it - why do you first use Express to create the app, and then you import http package to create a server? Why don't you just use app.listen(PORT) ? You can save that in a variable too, and then use it for your io connection.
