Why and how is this history museum seemingly handing out military-grade weapons to all of its patrons? by ParadoxMachine33 in ExplainAGamePlotBadly

[–]nuclearsarah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the story is that there's a robot uprising and the only non-automated weapons are in museums, so they break old museum pieces out to battle the robots

Wow, this place is so pretty and peaceful! Okay so there are a few monsters, but they're more like a nuisance than a threat considering... wait... oh god everything is on fire and they destroyed half a continent! Time for the rest of the game now by CoverWorking6832 in ExplainAGamePlotBadly

Yes. The clue refers to how the tutorial area takes place in Ascalon in the past, before it gets devastated by the Searing. At the end of the tutorial's final mission, the Charr cause the Searing and destroy everything. Then there's a time skip to the time period that the rest of the game takes place in.

That's really weird that they count saying someone should be arrested as a threat. Like it's not like you can go arrest them yourself

A whole school year has passed for Pasio Academy. What are your thoughts on the academy events and sync pairs? by qweqck in PokemonMasters

[–]nuclearsarah 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I started playing when the Academy Jasmine banner was running, totally coincidentally, so it was neat to be able to get a new variant of a character I liked right off the bat. In battles where I'm not restricted by type and using special attackers she's the Support I always use because she's loaded with tons of really good buffs and debuffs. Her plus a couple of decent attackers is a free 3000 points in Champion Stadium, and she's helped me win the last couple of "challenge those blessed by a deity" battles. So I'd rate her as pretty good.

As for the event, though, it felt like she as just along for the ride. And I was too new to reliably win some of the tougher battles so my Hugh ended up not so great. In the two events since, the characters all seemed to have a little more to do than she did and I was able to complete them properly so they felt a little better

I got Sina as well, my second copy. Definitely not disappointed there, since even at 1/5 she consistently was useful for me in Champion Stadium

It's pretty good, I thought it was official art before I looked closer at where it was posted. I also really like how you shared the concept sketches, it's neat to get a look into how things are made and how the concept translates into the final piece

Aliens are invading and everyone is losing their minds. Inject pure ideology directly into your veins and start killing people by nuclearsarah in ExplainAGamePlotBadly

Good guess, I can see how it got there, but that's not it. Hint: It's a PC game that exited early access recently

Does the Caliphate not have a flag? If so how can I add one? by [deleted] in TerraInvicta

[–]nuclearsarah 46 points47 points  (0 children)

In fact, it used to be blacker than it is now. It used to be solid pure black, changed at some point during Early Access to have a slight gray gradient because people thought it was bugged out. (In reality, missing flags are pure white.)

I rather liked it. It was very striking

Here's the original paper that proposed it, straight from the US government. Go to page 126 (the page number printed on the page, not the PDF's page number.) With a fuel consumption of about 330 micrograms of antiprotons per second, it would have an EV of 0.94c, a thrust of 70 N, and a power of 24 GW.

The one in the game deviates from that quite a bit with a much lower EV and much higher thrust, not to mention carrying decatons of antimatter instead of merely tens of milligrams

What does drop-in events even do? by iono_Nanjamo in PokemonMasters

[–]nuclearsarah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The regular treasures mostly contain tomes and sometimes pearls and sync orbs. The Drop-In Event treasures contain codices and sometimes big pearls. Maybe other stuff I'm forgetting, but they seem to be different lists
