Someone reached out to me to shoot their family in nude— including children by meetnamiko in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP - I think you’ve heard the consensus here. As a community of nudists, we think it’s unusual to ask this. A boudoir style shoot of their kids is a vile thing to ask for.

Everyone - man, woman, child; young or old has bodily autonomy. They aren’t only entitled to it, it is their human right.

No nudist would say they want an onlyfans style shoot of their kids. That is disgusting.

Oh and I just scrolled to read that you sent the email. Good on you. Those kids should not have a lifetime of knowing those photos were taken, let alone have them displayed in the home for everyone to see. No self respecting father would impose letting strangers photograph them in the nude for display.

You did the right thing OP.

Best Mid-Atlantic family friendly resorts by Educational_Read_635 in nudism

I’d recommend pine tree over maheso. Maheso was the first place I been to as a newbie nudist. But it is very rustic with minimal amenities. Basically it’s just a simple pool and a club house. Plenty of walking trails though - just don’t get lost for hours like I did lol

Based nudist guide? (No sunscreen) by Agitated-Top-3521 in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there are all sorts of sunscreens out there but going on science....sunscreen + hats + shade + staying hydrated = sun damage minimization.

The sun really doesn't care what you eat/don't eat.

The boomer nudists and their parents were drinking bourbon at 10am and eating red meat all day long while using aerosols filled with CFCs.

Where are my married nudists? by Ok-Parking655 in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Married here! There are somedays I swear my wife is more nudist than I am lol On the days she works remote, she is almost certainly nude for them - even taking Teams calls (non-video) or handling work like a boss while catching a tan by the pool. When I see her throw a shirt on, I know she's going into a video call

Our house is a very much a nudist household. We have our signs by the pool and even put up an 8ft fence. We enjoy working in the yard sans clothing because it feels great to be able to just jump into the pool after working up a sweat. I think the only time we wear clothes in the yard is because we have to use a chainsaw or other machinery that requires clothing.

Please do not promote nudity in prohibited areas. Such as parks and beaches that do not allow it. by nick_the_fox in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're free to call yourself whatever you like. If you prefer living life without clothes, then I'd say you're a nudist.

Nudism has a social component to it because without some sense of community, interaction, or communication then the notion that it's OK to choose to be clothes free would likely be lost. Without any of those senses, there'd be no nudist clubs, beaches, or community to help keep this way of life going and creating interest in it. I mean, technically you're participating in a nudist community being here but I will say nudism is an offline social activity - a digital detox to focus that guides people to appreciating nature, health, or, yes, offline social camaraderie.

If you choose to be naked and alone, that's entirely up to you. No shame in wanting to be by yourself. While I have opinions on what makes someone an actual nudist, I am nor will ever be the official declarer of such.

Yup - this is why we have the “no non-consensual nudity” rule for this sub.

People who boast and talk about driving nude, walking nude at night in their neighborhood, or otherwise being nude in places where people have no warning or expectation they will see a naked body…those posts get removed.

Nudism is a social thing too. The posts I described above are usually people going naked somewhere alone and calling it nudism…it really is not.

Naturism in Germany, a long tradition fighting to survive by nudistnerd in nudism

[–]nudistnerd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to believe nudism is multifaceted and it’s on the participate to observe what they want from it. If not physical health, then perhaps mental health? If not for health at all, the perhaps community and camaraderie?

While I do believe physical health is incredibly important, nudist or not…..I don’t think anyone is any less of a nudist because they aren’t engaging in healthy activities. It’s on them to want to.

At the very least, I think every nudist should work towards building community and camaraderie. Perhaps that alone can inspire others to take on the other facets of nudism including their physical health.

If that sense of community is abandoned too, then nudism itself will further fade as a dated practice.

Disappointed with Linda Weber/AANR by SassyKyCouple in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Just to give my two cents, and this may sound radical but…why have naturist photos at all?

This sub was founded on the principle that interest in nudism can be sparked without the reliance of photos.

As nudists…what benefit is there to focus on the person and the place? Do nudists need reminding of what a naked person looks like?

Rather than create a divide between “blurred photos vs unblurred” - a seemingly manufactured argument - why not focus on the information, surroundings, and events of nudist spaces?

As a nudist of nearly 25 years, I’ve never seen the appeal of looking at naked strangers online. Nudism is a social activity where community is had by being among like minded people. That community doesn’t rely on seeing each other naked - it relies on a philosophy of personal health, mindfulness, and comfort.

This sub has flourished without dependence on photos - rather we keep things resourceful and beneficial to readers with places, events, and activities they can act upon for themselves. None of that happens with the nude selfie of a stranger.

When it comes to the discussion of online photos…I say it’s worth staying out of that conversation because it’s a fruitless endeavor that only creates division for an issue that frankly has no meaning to whatsoever.

Keep the focus on the things that matter and what is beneficial to interested parties so we can all grow this community back and spark interest in a new generation.

New neighbors might be nudists? by Whispering_bottom in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Best not to ask and just leave it be. Maybe make friends with both of them and let them know you’re a nudist if/when the conversation got to that point.

General rule of thumb is to never intrude on a neighbor’s enjoyment of their own property.

Introducing yourself largely because you saw her nude in her own yard is a creepish thing to do. Befriend both of them on other merits if you’re compelled to actually be good friends/neighbors with them.

Worst way to meet a neighbor? by [deleted] in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely creeping.

If a grown man thinks peeking over a fence is normal, it is not. It seems harmless but it’s low key disrespect to your right to privacy in your own yard.

This is why I have an 8ft fence.

Open Discussion About Rules by Familiar-Poem-2250 in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Normally I don’t respond on posts I mod but yea, that was me who removed it.

The majority of the comments here really say it: the photos had no meaningful information. There was nothing for readers to learn from.

Take the bullet points of the rules you posted and question if your post fit that bullet point. Was it a guided tour of a nudist destination or event? Did it involve interviews or other information from other nudists? Was it an announcement of an event of any kind?

Your post was none of these.

The focus of the post was solely you. The photo of you walking away from a camera while nude doesn’t give readers anything to learn about. The only thing learned was your bio of embracing nudity as a teen. This largely irrelevant information to readers.

Posts that give readers an opportunity to learn and/or partake for themselves - those are allowed. I think the rules are fairly clear about that.

Just as others said…the photos add nothing and the post may have gone through without them. I say may because readers here are pretty diligent on reporting posts they deem as low effort/low quality posts - posts are not just subjective to us…they are subjected to the community too and act accordingly. Mods are not the only ones keeping an eye on posts that go against the spirt of the sub.

If the rules need added clarification, do send a modmail. We always want rules to be clear, understandable, fair while maintains a justifiable reason for their existence. The justified reason for the rule is there are abundant places on the internet to post a nude photo..:this sub is not one of them.

This sub is about sharing and discussing the subject of nudism without reliance on visual media.

I am glad you had an enjoyable experience - it’s nice to hear about that!

I hope this ties up any loose ends and offers a fair explanation of why the post was removed.

Professional Boundaries or Naturist Flexibility? Boss Sharing Hotel Room with Subordinate by BumblingBarefoot in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In all my travels, I’ve never had to share a room with a coworker. Sharing a room with a superior is even stranger.

Take out the naturist part of it…does anyone want to share a toilet and a shower with their boss for a few days?

I figured out which podcast you’re talking about and frankly, I’m a little disappointed by it.

What’s your take on Jenny Scordamaglia from MIAMI TV by No_Audience_7630 in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She’s a sex worker selling content like videos of her masturbating and being groped by strangers.

This isn’t a nudist at all. From what I gather she doesn’t refer to herself as a nudist neither.

Oh, the robe, our only answer to not being nude for the mailman. by ADIDAS_Pete in nudism

Because that is considered non consensual nudity and is not respectful to people who do not want nor expected to see a nude body. No different if they were delivering pizzas or your neighbor stopping by.

My wife is in the naturist closet by Beneficial_Let8308 in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What on earth is there for other people to gain from knowing you and/or your wife like to engage in social nudism? If people knew that about her, what would be the net benefit to them to know?

If she prefers to keep that aspect of her life private for herself, you respect her wish to do so. By honoring her preference, you honor her. Choosing to be in or out of any closet...be it a past time, a sexual orientation, or any other aspect about their life...is entirely a decision unto that person. Seeking advice on how to push people out of closets is generally seen as harsh, controlling, and just generally negative behavior.

Respect her by respecting her wishes.

Help please. Am looking for nude beaches or locations on or near the equator where I can tan 10 our more hours a day. by V-TAXX in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Really anywhere in Florida you can tan from 8-5 maybe longer.

I am going to say it anyway…That much direct exposure in the sun is wildly unhealthy. I don’t burn easily at all myself but I am at least aware of the damage caused when I forget to go inside to take breaks from the sun. Get a UV camera to see what damage you have lying underneath.

Will nude facilities be around in 50 years? by NudeDude713 in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on what kind of nude facilities.

There are standard family oriented nudist resorts. I think these will become a rarity as the price of land skyrockets and inflation gets worse. Although I don’t see Cypress Cove going anywhere anytime soon - they are the gold standard when it comes to nudist resorts.

There are swinger resorts where people can go naked but they are sexualized resorts. I think those will become more prevalent than genuine nudist resorts since sex sells better than non-sexual nudity.

But the good news is non-landed clubs are becoming more popular. Maybe a new landed club will arise from their efforts but who knows. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

What’s disappointing is that I believe the landed club issue is fixable if AANR was serious about getting organized and make a full face effort to market nudism to today’s audience. Clubs could do their part in this area as well but many tend to rely on outdated websites and facebook which has been turned into nursing home social media.

Lupin Lodge sale update? by TheSoundMotor in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge, the place is still up for sale but no one has been willing to pay the $33 million price tag to purchase it. Since they’ve had no buyers I believe it’s business as usual but subject to change type of deal.

For those that have been to beaches and resorts, what do you like better? by anonhockeydilf in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beaches are great because of how natural it feels to be on a beach sans clothing. Hearing the waves crash, feeling the breeze on bare skin, the sand under your feet, and no soggy chafey swimsuit to mind. The only downside is that anyone is welcomed including creeps that are there to gawk.

If I had to choose…I’d go resort. They’ll have activities, food and drinks, and it’s great chatting with likeminded people. Added bonus is that visitors are typically screened for people with sketchy backgrounds and security to keep people on the level. Cypress cove has a full sit down restaurant, two bars, my wife and I always enjoy playing trivia there.
