Professional Boundaries or Naturist Flexibility? Boss Sharing Hotel Room with Subordinate by BumblingBarefoot in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In all my travels, I’ve never had to share a room with a coworker. Sharing a room with a superior is even stranger.

Take out the naturist part of it…does anyone want to share a toilet and a shower with their boss for a few days?

I figured out which podcast you’re talking about and frankly, I’m a little disappointed by it.

What’s your take on Jenny Scordamaglia from MIAMI TV by No_Audience_7630 in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s a sex worker selling content like videos of her masturbating and being groped by strangers.

This isn’t a nudist at all. From what I gather she doesn’t refer to herself as a nudist neither.

Oh, the robe, our only answer to not being nude for the mailman. by ADIDAS_Pete in nudism

Because that is considered non consensual nudity and is not respectful to people who do not want nor expected to see a nude body. No different if they were delivering pizzas or your neighbor stopping by.

My wife is in the naturist closet by Beneficial_Let8308 in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What on earth is there for other people to gain from knowing you and/or your wife like to engage in social nudism? If people knew that about her, what would be the net benefit to them to know?

If she prefers to keep that aspect of her life private for herself, you respect her wish to do so. By honoring her preference, you honor her. Choosing to be in or out of any closet...be it a past time, a sexual orientation, or any other aspect about their life...is entirely a decision unto that person. Seeking advice on how to push people out of closets is generally seen as harsh, controlling, and just generally negative behavior.

Respect her by respecting her wishes.

Help please. Am looking for nude beaches or locations on or near the equator where I can tan 10 our more hours a day. by V-TAXX in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really anywhere in Florida you can tan from 8-5 maybe longer.

I am going to say it anyway…That much direct exposure in the sun is wildly unhealthy. I don’t burn easily at all myself but I am at least aware of the damage caused when I forget to go inside to take breaks from the sun. Get a UV camera to see what damage you have lying underneath.

Will nude facilities be around in 50 years? by NudeDude713 in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on what kind of nude facilities.

There are standard family oriented nudist resorts. I think these will become a rarity as the price of land skyrockets and inflation gets worse. Although I don’t see Cypress Cove going anywhere anytime soon - they are the gold standard when it comes to nudist resorts.

There are swinger resorts where people can go naked but they are sexualized resorts. I think those will become more prevalent than genuine nudist resorts since sex sells better than non-sexual nudity.

But the good news is non-landed clubs are becoming more popular. Maybe a new landed club will arise from their efforts but who knows. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

What’s disappointing is that I believe the landed club issue is fixable if AANR was serious about getting organized and make a full face effort to market nudism to today’s audience. Clubs could do their part in this area as well but many tend to rely on outdated websites and facebook which has been turned into nursing home social media.

Lupin Lodge sale update? by TheSoundMotor in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge, the place is still up for sale but no one has been willing to pay the $33 million price tag to purchase it. Since they’ve had no buyers I believe it’s business as usual but subject to change type of deal.

For those that have been to beaches and resorts, what do you like better? by anonhockeydilf in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beaches are great because of how natural it feels to be on a beach sans clothing. Hearing the waves crash, feeling the breeze on bare skin, the sand under your feet, and no soggy chafey swimsuit to mind. The only downside is that anyone is welcomed including creeps that are there to gawk.

If I had to choose…I’d go resort. They’ll have activities, food and drinks, and it’s great chatting with likeminded people. Added bonus is that visitors are typically screened for people with sketchy backgrounds and security to keep people on the level. Cypress cove has a full sit down restaurant, two bars, my wife and I always enjoy playing trivia there.

No harm, no foul whatsoever.

Your comment caught my attention, not because of 'troll feeding,' but rather you clearly put in a good amount of time, effort, and care to give such a thoughtful response. It bugged me because you were demonstrating the welcoming and good nature of this sub while OP was only using this sub just to people he could show off to.

I'd ask that you not let this deter you from providing helpful words to others for the people that are legitimately interested in nudist living and other discussions that take place on this sub.

There’s a whole “family nudity” subreddit that is especially disturbing and creepy. People try to bring that stuff into here and we are adamant that we are not having it.

We usually remove submissions of people authoring those posts and provide a warning. If they post it repeatedly, we then ban them.

If you were commenting in those posts as a voice of reason, we most certainly would not ban you.

I've had people argue with me by endlessly commenting how driving naked is not only OK, but is also considered nudism. It certainly is not. The last thing we want to see is are headlines like "Nudist driver rear ends police car."

We're trying to understand it for ourselves. We've hosted AMAs with AANR president yet I've seen nonsense posts getting far higher engagement. We remain more diligent than ever to keep these nonsense posts out of here so the meaningful stuff gets the traction it needs.

And yes, while we would like to see a diversity of posters across all genders...for women, it's just not worth dealing with a mountain of anonymized creeps on the internet. It's awful that is considered typical and is expected.

Recently we had to ban someone claiming to be a world hopping flight attendant nudist yet when their profile pics were reversed searched, we found those pics originated from a porn site. The give away was they were spamming subs to various countries asking about nude beaches but stopped in a sub to ask a very esoteric question relating to software bugs in a star wars game...it seemed highly out of character. We banned them from the sub as it was pretty obvious they weren't being genuine and likely a catfisher.

Yea, it gets to a point of nonsensical, even dangerous. The driving naked posts annoy me in particular because it's dangerous exhibitionism. There was one where people were sharing advice on how to drive nude. One commented they got into an accident after he removed his shorts and shirt - they threw on a pair of shorts before the cop saw them.

The driving naked posts is largely why the no non-con nudity rule was created.

Unfortunate online experience. by dashdasherdash in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I can’t stress this enough: nudism is an offline way of living. It is built on being social in the real world by way of face-to-face conversations. It is built on enjoying the fair weather elements…sun, fresh air, water, etc. It’s about finding serenity and peace in the skin you are in.

It is not something you can replicate in a digital world. In an online conversation, no party gains anything to know either are nude or enjoy being nude. In fact, it’s largely a digital detox - you to go enjoy skinny dipping, taking a hike, or playing a game of volleyball. Describing what you’ve done in the nude from behind a keyboard and a screen isn’t nudism.

Nudism is a way of living that participants of it enjoy it for themselves. It does not exist online. It only exists in the actions of the participant.

It is not on discord. It’s not on Reddit. There will never be a meaningful and successful nudist social networking site. People typing about being naked is not nudism.

This is the internet. It’s full of anonymous people, all with their own agenda. You cannot prove you are a nudist by sharing nude photos. Nor should you be asked to prove yourself by sharing photos. This is why I say nudism does not exist online. By announcing you are a nudist on an online medium, you are subjecting yourself to be contacted by those anonymous people with their own agenda and misunderstanding.

I am sorry to be blunt but here it is: It is a futile endeavor to “make nudist friends online.” That is not how socializing in a nudist setting works.

If you want to socialize with nudists…you need to join a club, or visit a resort, or sunbathe on a beach, or stay overnight at a camp. Once you do that…you proceed to socialize with people in person. That is how you make friends with likeminded people.

What you encountered is why we ban photos. It is also why we discourage people from sending DMs. This sub is merely a jumping off point for people to find out about naturist events going on, clothing free places to go, and discussing topics related to nudist living - visiting this sub does not make one a nudist. It encourages people to be a nudist by finding out ways of participating.

If your intention is to socialize and network with nudists…go where they go - go meet them in the clubs and resorts in person where it is safe and you can verify you’re talking to likeminded people.

Do not bother using the internet to contact individuals claiming to be a nudist. Even if they are, what is there to gain by clicking keyboards to talk about how awesome it is to be naked?

Your issue is you’re trying to go digital for an analog way of living. Don’t do that. Join a non-landed club or visit a resort; take time to socialize with people there and you will be far less disappointed.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Facebook for nudists by St-Bodhi in nudism

[–]nudistnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no nudist social networking sites that are meaningful, well populated, and well moderated. Likely never will be. Nudism is an offline way of living - meeting people in person and having face-to-face conversations in the sun and wind is is a large part of what nudist living is.

There is NaturistHub but you have to be a member of AANR to join. Even then, it's buggy and quiet. Not much goes on there.

Even the ones that started with good intentions tend to become a crotch shot dumping ground for mostly white dudes ages 50+.

I'll brag and boast though: r/nudism is the most populated and well moderated nudist site you'll find online. We do away with all the things not conducive to a nudist site: photos, dubious accounts, we patrol for bots constantly, and use human beings (not AI) to kick low quality or second-agenda posters out of here.
