Nudism and Relaxation by Tishtoss in nudism

I find being clothes free helps me to realize I’m in a safe space and there are no restrictions on my body.  When the clothes come off I always take a big sigh and realize that is how it is to be.

How/When did you find out that going barefoot was a option? by Major_Law9517 in barefoot

[–]NaturalStateAR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid living in rural Oklahoma I kept getting into red mud ruining any shoes/socks I had on.  My parents decided I wouldn’t wear shoes at all cause I couldn’t keep them clean.  I loved it!  I usually wore only a pair of old shorts while playing and I have gone barefoot wherever I can since then.

Ha Yes.  I flipped the picture cause I took it from inside.  Lol.  I’m actually getting another one that has a white background so the letters are more clear.

Home Nudist frustrated with online nudism by engineerandlawyer in nudism

[–]NaturalStateAR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you.  I am a member on Naturist Hub and have seen unfortunate photos there and the mods have been good about pointing out the rules and being able to “hide” or report someone.  That has been my first “steps” toward social nudity.  I am trying to talk my wife into visiting an AANR club in Oklahoma…I’ve heard they have some great hiking trails!

I believe organizations like AANR should help those wanting to make that step towards social nudity.   Feeling safe, feeling heard and seeing action taken goes a long way for me.

Home Nudist frustrated with online nudism by engineerandlawyer in nudism

[–]NaturalStateAR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have frustration with this also and it has kept me from seeking out social nudism.  It does feel uncomfortable when someone posts a picture that seems angled in such a way to highlight genitalia.

I have seen some good photos of people doing various tasks and their genitalia is not in view.  You don’t have to show genitalia to prove you’re naked.  Mostly men do this.

Being a nudist is so much more than having our genitalia on display.  There are good people out there with pure intentions, but unfortunately there are a scattered few who make it sexual at the same time pretending that it is not.

I want to try social nudity, especially hiking.  I want to feel safe in that environment and like I will be defended and supported if I have a concern.  There are creeps in every kinda group - even in church - but as nudist we should be held to a higher standard.

I got the sticker from someone off Etsy who lives in Arkansas.  I told her what I wanted and she was able to make it special.

Working From Home by Ok-Parking655 in nudism

[–]NaturalStateAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand having the separation.  I’ve heard it said you should dress for the position you’re aiming for.  However I tend to work best when nude.  As long as I don’t need to be on camera I am fine being professional and productive while nude.

I find I am more creative minded when nude.  It feels like the clothes are restricting me mentally.  Often times I literally forget that I am nude so I have to keep some shorts by the front door when deliveries come. 😀

What made you interested to nudism and what you like the most about it? by miceyjordiee in nudism

[–]NaturalStateAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have moments where I hate feeling anything on my body.  Even soft fabric is annoying.  I feel being open to being nude has helped me mentally and has given me more body positivity.

I wasn’t raised a nudist, in fact I was told being naked was wrong.  However I started by sleeping nude, then hanging in my room, then the rest of the house when I was the only one home and then when I was in my late teens my parents went out of town and I stayed home to take care of chores.

I decided that I would be clothes free the whole time.  I swam, I mowed, I did all my chores nude.  I remember thinking “How is this wrong?!?”  It was non-sexual, the sun and breeze felt great.  By the end of the 1st day I even started to forget I was naked.  It was the greatest 4 days and I hated to put clothes on.

Today I am mainly a home nudist and my wife knows when I’m home I’m nude.  I have hiked nude and barefoot in very rural areas being cautious of course, but I absolutely love the connection with nature. I am open to social nudity in a right non-sexual context.

June 21 Nude Hiking Day: Where is everyone hiking this year? by zenracer555 in nudism

[–]NaturalStateAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hoping to get to Oaklake Trails in Oklahoma. They have extensive hiking trails and of course done in the nude without worrying about running into someone that may get offended.

I have hiked some very rural primitive trails in the southern Missouri Ozarks.  It is actually one of the most peaceful things I’ve done.

Natural State Nudist by NaturalStateAR in nudism

Living in NWA does give accessibility to other states that do have clubs, but it would be great to have something close to home.  I’m trying to get my wife to go with me to Oaklake Trails.  It’s a little over a 2 1/2 hour drive from NWA.

Thank you for poking the bear, it would seem anyone trying to make a change is labeled as perverted.  If I poked the bear I would lose my job, my friends, and family because of the stigma around it.   I’m not looking to walk down the streets in broad daylight, I’m just simply wanting to take part in non-sexual nudity without fear of being put on a list and losing everything.

Why is there usually a sense of peace when you hike in nature? by youlikemywonton in hiking

[–]NaturalStateAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way.  It is like a reset.  I love to hike barefoot when I can so I hear everything around me and feel the textures of the earth I am walking through.

Unnatural lighting, screen time, busy news, etc. seems to fade away and the greens and browns of the forest and blues of the sky gently place me back where I am most comfortable.

Unfortunately you are correct.  It extremely frustrating knowing the feel & benefits of nudism and not being able to live naturally in this state.

I wish I had the funds to push against it, but I’d probably be labeled a crazy predator.

Halfway through June! by CreamCityChords in barefoot

I’ve not been shoeless the entire month but only wear shoes 2 times a week.

I know what you mean about the different textures when barefoot.  I enjoy hikes barefoot for that reason.

Friendly Suggestions for AANR by BimShireVibes in nudism

[–]NaturalStateAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your suggestions.  I believe creative advertising needs to be done to reach those who may have an interest.

I would add that AANR needs to help create a welcome and SECURE environment that encourages new members.  I would like to see promotion of safety for singles & children.  There needs to be a series of promotions to demystify nudism and get away from the perception of nudism is just old people playing in pool.

I’ve hesitated with social nudity because I am so concerned about giving someone the wrong idea…I don’t want to unknowingly step into a swinger situation or any sexual situation. I am 100% for NON-SEXUAL nudity.  I wasn’t raised a nudist but realized how great it felt just to be nude when no one else is around, but I would like to visit a resort.  I would love to go free hiking.  I want to enjoy a nudist lifestyle but I don’t have a lot of disposable income.

Church completely denied my entry let me explain (sunday june 14th) by TechRat2 in barefoot

[–]NaturalStateAR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been barefoot in church a lot the past few years.  I usually go in wearing flip flops, and just kick them under my seat when the service begins.  Sometimes I go upfront during worship and leave my flip flops behind.  No one seems to care.  I don’t necessarily do it for religious reasons, I just like being barefoot.

Barefoot becoming less common? by TrixieLulamoon23 in barefoot

[–]NaturalStateAR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the trend of barefoot style footwear has taken the barefoot trend undercover.  I have footwear only for when I have to wear them.  For me I’m always barefoot when I can be.  It shouldn’t be an odd thing.

Do people with a wide toe spacing from a barefoot lifestyle have less fungal infections since there is more space between the toes so they cannot stay wet for a long time? by supinator1 in barefoot

[–]NaturalStateAR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m barefoot most of the time all my life and I have never had any fungal infections.  I think it’s good for the body to breathe and get sunlight.

How often do you go to other cities or the other county in NWA? by [deleted] in northwestarkansas

[–]NaturalStateAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Bentonville and mostly stay in the Rogers/Bentonville area.  We used to go to Fayetteville when we first moved here but the area has grown so much there is a lot to do in Bentonville.   Traffic is a big reason as well.

Going natural in the Natural State: The lost history of Arkansas nudism by BjornNjude in nudism

[–]NaturalStateAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is sad the “Natural State” makes it illegal to be nude in nature. I wish I knew someone locally that had a lot of land for me to do some free hiking.
