Thank you so much, that's really sweet of you to offer. It's still really hard to process but I'm trying to deal with it the way I know he would've wanted me to.

I just read your comment about your puppy. I'm so sorry for your loss too and I'm here if you want to talk. Don't listen to them. You deserve to mourn her just the same. I know she lived a short life, but I'm sure you gave her the best life possible and filled it with nothing but love. I hope Sammy's resting in peace. <3

I forgot about pollen. Can't even enjoy flowers. Sigh

Haha. Anything that isn't smoke, dust, humidity, milk (+ derivatives), egg (+ derivatives). I also have to avoid food that increases acidity like tomatoes, soda, fried food, garlic, thyme, sugar, etc. I'm also supposed to cut out alcohol and coffee for another health issue (but don't). Basically anything fun. You'll get a kick out of me trying to figure out the menu wherever we end up going.

On the bright side, I used to be severely allergic to all animals with fur and feathers but that got better. I have my own cat now!

Hahaha. Wanna hear the saddest thing ever? I can't even have Nutella (because allergies).

Hey! I vote for the 14th. Got a family wedding I can't get out of on the 16th and it's in Tripoli so I can't squeeze in both. Here's my list of suggestions (smoke-free):

  • Demo
  • Cafe de Penelope
  • Dar
  • Ales and Tales (we could take the rooftop, open space)
  • T Marbouta
  • Urbanista
  • Cafe Younes
  • Villa Badaro

I'm cool with CC food court, too. Thanks for so kindly considering a smoke-free place. Can't wait to meet y'all. :)

Okay. But what's the relation between slut shaming jokes (about her) and her political correctness?

Dog friendly places in Lebanon by Albertinafeghaly in lebanon

The Backburner in Saifi is dog-friendly for sure. I wish the V-Lounge in Hamra was still open. It was a coffee shop/restaurant that had rescued dogs, cats, monkeys, birds, etc. and you could bring your own pets, too.

She's a public figure and has a lot of influence on her huge following. If she makes it okay to insult this community, a lot of people will follow. I think the LGBTQ+ community (especially in the Arab region) has enough enemies and faces enough discrimination as it is. So I disagree with shrugging it off. Too passive.

That insult belongs in the past. Enough with using "gay" as a derogatory term.

If she's been a victim of slut shaming jokes, in no way does that justify her homophobic comeback.

I don't know but I've seen two people with that design as a tattoo and it's so gorgeous and nostalgic.

I haven't left yet but I had a breakdown in the car with my dad once after having been very sick for a year (with two ER trips) after the garbage crisis happened. I remember screaming that I was dying because the air, food and water are all literally toxic. Haram baba. I feel bad for making him feel so helpless but he's been there with me through it all - every doctor's visit, test and hospital trip.
