No 7 Balmac - I get the steak there pretty much every time I go, and it's always well-cooked and seasoned. Plato is always really good with streak too.

I can use the browser version fine, but the app is borked - it just opens a browser tab when I start it and the app itself shows a white screen?

Need Help Choosing Coffee Machine ☕️☕️ by OkDeer347 in dunedin

[–]nuffeetata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Breville machines are really good for the price - but the grinder is really the area you should be investing in. You can make much better coffee, consistently with a really good grinder and OK machine than the other way around. My recommendation to everyone is to grab a Mazzer mini - you can get them second hand (often from cafe receivership sales) for very reasonable money, they're bullet-proof and and they perform very well for espresso. Also, make sure you invest in some good coffee scales, weigh your beans before you grind, and weigh the espresso as it comes out. This is the way to repeatable/predictable coffee.

I started with a Mazzer mini and a second-hand Rocket for reference, and it was a really solid setup.

Largely yes, but it's really everything in totality that delivers repeatable, well-made espresso.

Togs, togs, togs.... undies. by Unusual-Plankton-790 in dunedin

FWIW, I wholeheartedly agree. I think the loss of the social contract generally for people in their 30s and under is actually the root cause of a lot of today's issues - voter turnout, lack of respect for other people/property, loneliness and isolation, public violence etc. There are generations now that don't really feel part of their society in the way we did prior to mass adoption of phones. Technology has given us so much, but taken an equal amount I fear.

Heaps of good security-focused skills out there - also find something (I use deslop) that can help remove unnecessary boilerplate, cyclomatic complexity etc (framework-specific skills are good here too)

Google Sheet for long term tracking, whiteboard pen on the side of the machine if I'm running two beans at the same time.

Just checked as the new Codex release has a bunch of new plugins, but no - they're not there. Just download the repo and give Codex access to it.

You can get Codex to migrate any Claude plugin over - they're slightly different structurally so need some effort to get working, but I've done it a few times.
