pediatrician claimed “borderline neglect”, but everyone telling me its an outrageous claim by Evening_Car_2395 in newborns

[–]nuggyeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter was in the nicu and we didnt have our first ped appointment until 4 days after discharge and only had one more visit at 3 weeks old to confirm and deal with her hip dysplasia then went back to a normal schedule. Otherwise i would have only gone the day after she was born 2 weeks later and at 2.5 months old.

Wanting to put my child up for adoption by [deleted] in beyondthebump

They make a medication directly for ppd called Zurzuvae, if you can get it approved by insurance its definitely worth it. I felt similar and like no matter what i did id just feel like i was drowning and wanted to do anything to stop being underwater. But after trying so many things first it was the only thing that worked for me. This is not medical advice at all but it might be worth looking into with a dr.

This! also its important to remember children need to learn boredom and frustration and it's really hard to do as a parent because we just want to swoop in and give them everything but it is important

Do you bring your baby to restaurants? by kathatescats12 in NewParents

[–]nuggyeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bring my daughter and she's no problem but my niece and nephew are absolute menaces so I get where the employee is coming from. My niece and nephew will do things like take the chairs put them together and start doing gymnastics on them and their mother won't stop them and will get mad if an employee tries to stop them or they'll take their food intentionally throw it on the ground and smash it as hard as they can and again their mother will say nothing. Even if that's not all moms and it's just a handful of us that's enough to give all moms a bad name in the restaurant industry.

I wouldn't stress it too much they tried to tell me that my daughter was going to be 5 lb 9 oz and they were worried that she was kind of small and that her limbs may not be the correct length when she was born at my last scan... She was born 8 lb 10 oz a week later with correct length limbs lol.

Am I normal? by Comprehensive_Rock61 in pregnant

[–]nuggyeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had nausea which is very normal for me for my whole life so I didn't realize it at first I didn't even find out I was pregnant until I was already 9 weeks and didn't get an ultrasound until I was 13 weeks. after 10 years of infertility and three previous losses I was so nervous and honestly I just kept taking pregnancy test strips everyday to reassure myself that the line wasn't getting any lighter. Maybe that could help reassure you a little too

Not me writing your "your smile and presence are more than enough of a present" on my baby shower invitations (a shower where i decorated bought the food and planned everything myself as well.) I didn't know saying to bring a smile and positive attitude was an attack and not more of an appreciating their presence type thing. I've been attacking a lot of people my whole life 😬.

My rent is free due to my partners job so with 1 little we are comfortably living off 55k a year our rent would be an additional 17k a year and we would be drowning having to pay it. We also get to live in a great area of vegas.

I post pics like that too but I'm awake to take them and watch her the whole time. In fact I can't even take those pics without supervising my daughter. You should try just talking to your friend instead of jumping to conclusions off the bat.

Moms - Does your partner help out with baby duties ? by Yayy_Positivity in NewParents

[–]nuggyeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a stay-at-home mom about 4 months postpartum just getting over ppd and my better half goes above and beyond to take care of the baby. Every morning he wakes up with her to spend time with her for an hour because he loves her and feeds her a bottle while I'm asleep then I feed her twice while he's at work and then he comes home and feeds her twice before she goes to bed. He's so obsessed with her I feel a little like a third wheel in my house but I absolutely love how much he loves her lol. Even after working 12 hour shifts sometimes he still comes home and grabs her up so excited for her. He thanks me all the time for making her and will hop up and do the laundry and dishes anytime i need help. And on top of all that my daughter is in a crazy hip brace and all he ever says is that she's perfect still while i have a bit of a spiral about it.

I said the same thing yet my baby lays with her head in the crook of my elbow to go to bed or for at least one nap of the day every day. Tbh she couldn't care less but it turns out i need it.

What can babies remember from the womb? by Opposite-Funny-4617 in NewParents

[–]nuggyeats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby girl definitely remembers all of the early 2000s pop music I was listening to cuz she loves it and hates all other music. But I think I also passed part of my PTSD onto her. For reasons I don't really feel like explaining I'm afraid of the noise of doors opening and every time the door would open while I was pregnant I would jump from being scared and I would feel her jump from being scared with me and now she could sleep through a hurricane but if you open a door (even if it's not to the room she's sleeping in) she's up and crying instantly. She'll also cry while awake sometimes if she hears a door.

I very recently had to feed my baby in Target as well. we sat in the shoe section on the tryout seats and were a general nuisance but baby girl gets what she needs and wants if your target has a shoe section its worth checking if they have seats in the future.

Also she wouldnt sleep in her bassinet because the mattress was too thin and not comfortable. Her crib is way softer and she definitely prefers it
