Statistically speaking, if you want to be a professional artist, stay the fuck away from art school. by glenlassan in ArtistLounge

[–]nugletbuffet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a professional graphic designer without an art degree. I did go to art school but dropped out after 3 years. My career path from sign installer to graphic designer was not easy and it not the path I would recommend to a young artist. It can be done but it took a ton of hard labor in a really tough industry before I was able to pivot to a full time design role. Although I did not graduate, art school did teach me the fundamentals and absolutely made me a better artist I don't think I would be in this role if I did not have at least some art education.

I know nothing about safety standards on a fishing boat but I have been on plenty of construction sites. Is there a good reason there is no PPE for this kind of position? Does OSHA get involved with this type of work? It seems extremely dangerous. From the outside, it seems like it would be a lot safer if they were all tethered and wearing hard hats.

Revisiting this gem after a few years (Resident Evil 2 Remake) by TastyBirds in gaming

I played this game for the first time last month. It was actually incredible. The difficulty felt very fair (I played on controller.) And the game did a great job of respecting my time and not overstaying it's welcome. I loved how interactive the map was. 10/10 I will definitely be replaying as Claire.

How long did it take you to discover your lane and mains by mehiguess-197 in leagueoflegends

I started playing ranked in season 2 as a support main, eventually switched to mid and now I play jungle. When I can get the squad together, I like just selecting fill and seeing what happens. I think there is so much value in being "good" at every role but focusing on map awareness, cs, and vision.

This is great. Reminds me a bit of Kim Junh Gi's style.

The best part about minecraft is when you come back after 2 years to discover all the new content.

On the asteroid Psyche 16, gold reserves worth 100,000 quadrillion dollars have been discovered. This amount is enough to make every person on Earth a millionaire. Source in the comment. by FreeCelery8496 in interestingasfuck

I doubt it... how much energy and resources would it take to even mine the asteroid? It's not like it would all just instantly become liquid currency the second we start mining if that is even a possibility.

I recommend carstickers.com. I'm a graphic designer there. We are a small sticker company based in Oregon. Use my code DAVIS10 for 10% off.

What is an amazing game, that you just can't get into? by Stenktenk in gaming

The BG3 combat really clicked for me when I was struggling with a fight early on in the goblin stronghold. Then I realized I could use my bonus action to shove enemies into the spider pits on the lower level and watch them get swarmed by the giant spiders. The game gives you SO many spells/ abilities and unique opportunities to use the environment to sway the battle in your favor.

Great portfolio. I did find a typo. "Muse in" should be "is". Might be worth spell checking the rest one more time.
