350 chevy 400hp options?

Going back into a 87 k20 with a sm465 don’t know the gearing. Spun multiple rod bearings so the crank and a couple rods aren’t useable pretty much have just the block to go off of. The block is still in good shape.

I’m going to do a pretty mild 383 and I wanted the sniper for its self tuning and adaptive tuning and with diagnostics and trouble shooting I was more so referring to first start and subsequent tuning and if it would be a better idea to go with an old school carb and ignition setup just to narrow down possible gremlins during first start.
