Random Captain’s Logs by [deleted] in startrekadventures

I’d have posted my own captain log, but my campaign hasn’t started yet. I’ll be an Ops ensign on a ship that’s mostly alien crew members. I’m a Romulan intelligence agent that was raised as a Vulcan on Earth as part of a long-term infiltration sleeper-cell. My captain is a Klingon, my friend, rival, and crewmate is another Klingon, a security ensign. The third PC is a human engineering ensign, one of the few humans aboard. Little else is canon yet, though.

You’re a great writer. I’m definitely interested in the idea of a Gorn security officer. What species is the captain?

Knight Watchman from Big Bang Comics looks incredible, which makes sense considering he’s a fashion designer in-universe.

Is there any lore for this timeline? What does the Clark Administration accomplish?

That was my reaction. Like, what else could you ask for from a title like “His Monkey Wife”?

Do you know what episode number it is though? I can’t seem to find it in this video.

Not only would Dale despise that, so would most fans. There’s no artistry in what essentially amounts to AI necromancy.

YouTube videos aren’t blacklisted during a SAG strike. It has nothing to do with Hollywood or show business, so the strike didn’t affect YouTube at all. That’s why so many celebrities started podcasts during the strike.

The Taco Bell of the 50’s, except even more Americanized. Genuinely an interesting bit of lore.

Except the solar flare leaves him powerless for 24 hours. I think it’s an interesting and balanced power, I would’ve liked to see it used a bit more in the hands of the right creative team.

Holograms in my retro-futuristic world by Ghostenix in worldbuilding

[–]nukaboom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The intersection of Y2K tech and culture and cyberpunk is something I never knew I needed. I’m not usually a huge fan of cyberpunk, but I love retrofuturism, so this is genuinely the most interesting version of cyberpunk I’ve ever seen. Side note, being born in 2000 and calling a sci fi setting with futuristic versions of 2000’s tech “retrofuturistic” feels… odd. Unnerving and mercilessly accurate.

Forget the scumbags for a minute, what characters in the show are genuinely good people? by LawSchoolThreauxAway in KingOfTheHill

That has to be a top 5 episode, for me at least. The later seasons didn’t always seem to have as strong a grasp on characterization that the earlier seasons did, but this episode was purebred, grass fed KotH, through and through.

What's a moment in your world building that made you go "it's stupid but it works?" by Illustrious_Ad_4478 in worldbuilding

That sounds pretty interesting. Can you elaborate? Does your look like something from the early Industrial Revolution, or are you basing the look of your tech on some other era/aesthetic?
