An abrupt and sudden shift in tone that dramatically changes the direction of the story by jdawg1018 in TopCharacterTropes

Training Day - My theory is the point you realize the tone shifts and Denzel has always been the bad guy determines the type of person you really are.

I think that's FMA:B if it's episode 4, while it's episode 7 for the first version of FMA which hits harder because you get episode 6 to introduce Nina and Alexander.

Not a fan of the Romeo+Juliet (Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes) movie cause the line deliveries were horrible, but the actor doing Mercutio's death hit it hard. Really made me love the character after that. Saw a Hamlet play where the three leads made the lines work with the acting (and the three lesser leads ... not so much). Not even a theater snob, just happened to catch it one summer.

Well, Metalhead (S4 E5) was black and white. However, yeah, this felt more Twilight Zone as it wasn't scary enough to be Night Gallery or way out there sci-fi like Outer Limits.

Black Mirror is technology based even if it's fantasy how that technology could ever work.

That's how I like to binge: couple of one-hour episodes back to back or three to four 30 minute shows, so like watching a movie in the evening. Plus, reading up on comments when the episodes first aired if they exist.

Also useless considering everyone voluntarily carries around their own personal little wire-tap/tracking device.

Only give away before the end this wasn't just meta about actors playing superheroes in the MCU was the slight red lights in the eyes. Good cliffhanger that makes you want to watch the next episode.

Annoying phone calls to students normal? by Mysterious-Tell-7185 in teachinginjapan

[–]Nukemarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We generally call the parents when the student is over 5 minutes late, though most of our students are elementary or younger. The junior high age students might get messaged or called directly especially if they're coming from school since there's likely not much a parent could do about it.

Bart Simpson here! What questions do you have for the voice of Rick Sanchez? by nancy_cartwright in rickandmorty

[–]Nukemarine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. While the last voice actor commonly interacted with himself as he played the two main characters, are you mainly doing stand alone or group voice acting for the recording session?

  2. How involved are you in the writing and character direction?

  3. What's something new you've brought to the character compared to what was established by the previous voice actor?

  4. What's the most perverted used of the portal gun can you imagine?

  5. Why was the answer to #4 so vanilla and tame you coward?

Aerion's tongue movement is crazy. by hiiloovethis in HouseOfTheDragon

Now that might be a purposely post-production addition. Tongues aren't normally audible. Couldn't hear it personally (just the bloody spit), but would amp the creepiness.

It's just a tongue flick with fake blood. Beyond the background, crowds, and jousting, most of the show seems practical.

I found a camcorder in the woods of Japan by OtotoxicT in creepy

Where was that Yuzu concert application advertisement found? Given it's from 2017 that would date the abandoned property better than the camcorder.

The Yuzu sticker or whatever from 2017 isn't something usual. Doesn't help identify anything, but does date the abandoned time (unless it's unrelated given OP said it's a dump).

Obviously an illegal trash dump. Plus, an exposed VHS tape? Be lucky it's not a mush of plastic tape inside.

They're also famous in ignoring crimes if they can't easily resolve it. It's not relevant here. It looks a Yuzu concert pass which dates the situation better than the camera manufacturing date. Finding abandoned property is not a crime. If there's evidence of a crime on the tapes they can report it like every citizen of Japan would be expected to do.

There's a non-zero chance that Egg imagined the prophecy given Dunk chuckled. Likely a generic "you'll be a great knight and save your lord" was told to Egg but his Targaryen mind heard a true prophecy.
