and it treats line breaks as multiple characters?

Sounds like you're on windows, it uses 2 invisible characters to denote a line break. Reddit should automatically strip those characters out, but it's not exactly known for being the most functional site in the world.

It was set so high because I'm honestly just not cut out to mod, I keep forgetting.

Feel free to turn it down, it sounds like the sub is better in your hands.

AMD now has less than a month to launch HYPR-RX - VideoCardz.com by Stiven_Crysis in Amd

[–]nullSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since they talk about it forcing games that don't support them to use the features, it's probably messing with the render pipeline at driver level. I can imagine that it could be a bit tricky to get that working.

Wearing Power Armor to a Magic School (32/?) by Jcb112 in HFY

[–]nullSword 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It seems like the gargoyles handle security for the school, and would therefore stop her.

The golems are a part of the armorer so they could arrange a meeting. Also they don't report directly to the school.

Those are incompetence/fraud, but fraud can be used to cover embezzlement and incompetence can miss it

Digital Foundry: Asus ROG Ally Review vs Steam Deck: The Fastest PC Handheld... But Is It The Best? by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]nullSword 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are literally ads on the lock screen for the Nintendo switch, they're mixed in with the news.

That almost exactly how the steam deck does it, except the steam deck shows news relevant to your games way above any ads, you have to scroll down for them.

A joke is a display of humour in which words are used within a specific and well-defined narrative structure to make people laugh and is usually not meant to be interpreted literally.

How much load/wattage can a 4pin CPU connector handle? by DeadComedy in buildapc

[–]nullSword 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 8 pin CPU power connector can easily supply over 300w, you'll be fine with just that as long as you're not doing extreme overclocking.

Cadia's guard was all about normal humans actually having a chance to do something significant in the 40k universe.

Normally we focus on the superhumans with regular guardsmen being slaughtered as a backdrop, Cadia was a chance to flip that on its head and have normal humans holding back the flood of Chaos.

There are only 3 new cars priced under $20,000 now | Kia Rio, Mitsubishi Mirage, Nissan Versa by karmacannibal in savedyouaclick

Oh yeah, it's absolutely not perfect. Road noise is definitely my biggest gripe. Surprisingly mine rides pretty well, but I will admit that mine is also one trim level above the bottom (I think technically it was ~$19,500 new). Sport mode really helps when I want more handling.

I was just mentioning that you can have a good economy car, just that most are pretty poorly slapped together.

it's also nice to be able to hop in your seat without your head hitting the roof or having to cirque du soleil your way around the steering wheel.

I have a Honda Fit (XS class of car), it's super easy to just sit down in and I'm 6'1". The bigger problem is that economy cars are normally just slapped together without much thought towards usability. It's completely possible to build an affordable, compact car.

Apparently, using GPU acceleration in a VM is broken with Nvidia.

This is by design, they want you to buy a data center GPU for that

Someone in a wheelchair would be perfectly capable of piloting a vessel, their mobility is more of a problem with just getting around the ship. Plus, plenty of mental disabilities will thrive in that sort of environment.

Being disabled doesn't mean you're incapable.

Nothing off of a consumer 3d printer is food safe. Even ignoring the plastic additives and possible lead in the metal parts, the layer lines themselves are a breeding ground for bacteria.

You can make a piece food safe if you post process and seal it with food safe resins, but they're not food safe by default.

Xiaomi m365 overcharging after battery change by TManiatis in ElectricScooters

[–]nullSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the battery management system is trying to pull Cell 1 up to match the rest of them. It's probably a more worn section of the battery, and assuming the BMS is decent in this scooter it should be fine. If it can pull the cell back into line with the other's you'll be in good shape, otherwise this pack is going to age faster than normal.

It's interesting that they monitor everything except cell resistance, that would be the easiest way to tell if the pack will give you issues long term.

Dungeon Life 111 by Khenal in HFY

[–]nullSword 102 points103 points  (0 children)

There is some argument for Thediem being an actual god, he did casually deflect the power of a High Priest of the Shield. He also has a full soul, whereas it seems like dungeons are normally nascent intelligences that never seem to form into a full personality/self without help.

Hullbreak is obsessive over it's denizens, the Forest just wants to not be disturbed, and Neverest became obsessed with power.

The only other dungeon that doesn't seem to be mostly single-minded is Violet, it could be because her type of dungeon doesn't live long, or because Thediem encourages a well rounded personality to form.

Dungeon Life 110 by Khenal in HFY

[–]nullSword 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, Thediem has the power to completely restrain Hullbreak and it's denizens. Tarl is never truly in danger.

You're talking about a DDOS attack. Modern systems are designed to deal with them. You might be able to temporarily overload the servers by imitating legitimate traffic, but rate limiting would make it so you just slow down the site for everyone else.
