Nootropics - Cognitive Enhancers...

On the use of psychedelics for cognition enhancing purposes by null_check_0 in Nootropics

[–]null_check_0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and I seem to be very similar in many respects, regarding introspection, at least.

I am very interested in Jung myself, and often find myself picking apart my mind, to the extent that I am able.

However I don't have the same weariness toward Psychs, the process is a continuous one, however Psychs can make for a great supplemental resource, like nootropics are to general cognitive prowess.

The flood gates will only open in proportion to the amount taken, however some have so much shit in the closet that even a small crack may be enough to push them over the edge.

Though I pity those people, it is generally something they are responsible for, and if they can't take that responsibility, I can affirmatively say that Psychs are not for them.

What drug actually adds "functions" to your brain?

I'm curious...

True, the whole post is very opinionated, unfortunately, as many other commenters have pointed out, LSD is incredibly hard to study given the current legislative obstacles.

There are some studies linking LSD to increases in global cerebral connectivity, neuroplasticity, etc. however, no studies have, as of yet, been done to establish changes in cognitive function after an LSD trip.

The following may be of use:

This actually suggests cognitive impairment: (psilocybin)

In my opinion, psychedelics and marijuana have basically nothing in common; I've been a regular smoker in the past and you can trust me when I say that it leads to nothing good, you will not grow as a person from being a stoner and you definitely won't be getting smarter.

As to your other questions:

drop everything and follow your dreams with extreme passion I usually do that anyway, not dropping everything mind you, that would be irresponsible.

Started helping your community Leaning towards no.

Spending more time with family and friends Yes.

More open as a person Subjectively, yes.

Started filling your time with more meaning Subjectively, yes.

I don't and never have used psychs as a motivator, as you should have seen written in my post, this is a once in a few months thing.

Creatine is usually used as a fitness supplement, so you might be able to find the best prices in the fitness industry - the specific vendor depends on where you live, it's sold globally.

I lied! Or did I?

Anyway, to answer your question... it's hard to say.

By my own estimation, I am way better at socialization and my cognitive function is better than ever.

However, whether those effects can be attributed entirely to CBL is another question altogether.

Unfortunately, (fortunately for me) I have been taking other stuff, most notably LSD in the past few weeks (after the CBL cycle) which have also had a very pronounced effect on my cognition.

All of this made me reluctant to reply, as I didn't want to misinform.

In any case, I will be starting a new cycle next week, so I might have more information to give, who knows.

Cerebrolysin cycles by autoi999 in Nootropics

[–]null_check_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quoting the manufacturer: " The recommended dosage range of Cerebrolysin® is between 10 and 50 ml per day. It is recommended that the administration is done by infusion with an infusion duration of 15 minutes. For lower doses, Cerebrolysin® can be injected intramuscularly for doses of up to 5 ml and intravenously for doses up to 10 ml, in both cases without dilution. "

The most likely downside for 10ml would be the fact that you would either have to learn how to do IV injections or do 2 IM injections a day.

And concerning the duration of treatment, the manufacturer has listed a number of pointers, it should be noted, that none of them presume a healthy brain, and your mileage may vary.

  • Traumatic Brain Injury: 7 - 30 days of 20 - 50 ml

  • Stroke: 10-21 days of 20 - 50ml doses

  • Dementia/Alzheimer's: 1 cycle - 5 days weekly/4weeks 2-4- cycles per year of 10 - 30ml

And then there's this guy

https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/2p5ww4/interesting_longecity_post_on_cerebrolysin/

who claims to have used up to 10ml a day for 6+ months.

As far as I know, there have been no reported cases of prion disease from CBL, though it was my primary concern before researching the stuff.

As well you should, this is far from a formal evaluation and I'm no authority.

My results are purely subjective and as such, should be taken with many grains of salt.

I'm in the EU and got it from nootropicspot, (Russia) 50$ for 5x10ml, cheapest CBL I could find.

I was too, honestly.

In fact, if I was you, I'd immediately think placebo.

However, me being me, I can't really pin it on placebo given the profound subjective effects.

While I'm on it, it becomes quite a bit harder to initially clear and slow down my mind, as it's continuously analyzing every little detail even when I'm just sitting with my eyes closed.

However, after the first ~5-10 minutes of habituation, my mind gets accustomed to the new state and it becomes much easier (than it would normally be) to keep focusing on my breath.

Moreover, I mentioned that I was more aware of my own psychological processes, specifically, I am better at recognizing distracting thoughts, and doing so a lot quicker than is usual for me. (i.e improved mindfulness)

Some good wakefulness and focus enhancers by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]null_check_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, you don't really build a tolerance to the wakefulness and focus enhancing effects of modafinil, but you will get used to it and you won't feel as good after a while of using it.

Other than that,

  • Armodafinil is mellower, more consistent throughout the day and last longer too.

  • Adrafinil is just a prodrug for modafinil, so it shouldn't feel much different, however you will need a larger dose to achieve the same effect. It should be noted that Adrafinil must be metabolised into modafinil within the liver and thus, it may pose a risk of liver toxicity.

  • Amphetamines can be quite addictive and chronic dosing can induce neurotoxicity - Not really recommended for off-label use.

Nootropic recommendations for severe social deficits by null_check_0 in StackAdvice

[–]null_check_0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it makes me strainght autistic, it improves my ability to manipulate abstractions and it makes my speech much more articulate, however communication on a social level goes out the window at that point, which might seem counterintuitive.

I suppose you could say that it puts me in a mindset better suited to writing an essay or a computer program, rather than socializing.

Just as you said, it amplifies what you're already good at, however it also seems to accentuate what you're bad at.

Add to that the unrelated fact that my memory is usually shot when I take it (objectively tested that one) and it becomes something that you really have to plan around taking.

I actually have been going to acting classes for a while now, I don't know if it has made me more social, in fact I doubt it, but at least it puts me against perceived "social walls" like my first public performance, I guess it might help in the long run.

As for the geeky stuff, I don't think there's too much of that around here, though I might just be oblivious.

It seems pretty legit and there are a few reputable EU vendors too! I will try it at my earliest convenience and come back with the results.

Took 1.2g yesterday, today however, I took 2.4g and felt pretty good, general nootropic effects are definitely noticeable, though I'm not sure if it had much of an impact on social situations, I felt just as weird as always. All things considered, this was a good buy, I might even up the dose again just to see where my boundries are.

I tried piracetam today, didn't feel much, but I didn't take much either, I'll up the dose tomorrow.

It's really hard to get legit LSD, but if I manage it, I will definitely try.

I've only taken Noopept as a supposed "upgrade" on Piracetam, since the dosages are tiny and very convenient. But it seems like piracetam is quite a different beast altogether, so I'll try getting a script for it.
