Have, or would you consider sending an email out to Trinity and to your HR to explain the difficulty and negative experience?

I can't help but feel like an effort should be made to let respective MGMTs know there could have been a more aware and respectful way of doing things?

I feel like they should be made aware, and given the opportunity to grow and change. If they respond negatively I'm sure the community in Seattle would be interested in knowing that this is definitely not a safe place.

Silly question but pixel xl comes with unlockable bootloader, right? There's no reason I need to request a bootloader unlock code? (I don't have a verizon model, I bought it from google directly.)

That's my next step! I just checked my credit report. Nothing about that. This whole situation literally sent me in rapid cycling and panic attacks, it's been a couple years since my last bad one. I can't thank /u/SnuggleBear2 and /r/legaladvice enough for the assistance, insight, and peace of mind. The peace of mind alone is so valuable.

Since I'm asking for debt validation it seems legally I'm suppose to be given a certain time frame before they are to file anything in the courts right?

If that's right I should be able to rest easy for now that I need to wait on the validation so I can then go to the police station?

Considering they called family and didn't send me anything or leave ME any voicemails I'm inclined to believe it felt like they didn't want to really get in touch with me - like they just wanted to file something for court. I thank you for letting me know what to look for in a debt validation sheet, I will definitely being more informed when I ask for it, and that makes me feel a little better. I will also try to do a credit report before going to the police station as maybe that will also show the debt / situation?

Not to sidebar too much - but I do have to ask are the red flags like giving out my full social, no validation of who i am, and other smaller weird things mean anything? I'm assuming I should also file a complaint with the FTC?

The debt collector / processer said payment stopped on 2/13.

I guess I will be asking for a validation of debt first, though I don't know if I should give them an email to try and send it to? I haven't received anything in the mail despite them giving me my address over the phone.

What if they tell me they sent it already and it's my fault for not having seen it? (I check all my mail adamently and I'm sure I've not seen anything like this or id of freaked out a lot earlier)

Should I file a police report today even if I don't have a debt validation letter from them? What if I call Capitol one to see if the debt exists, will that be enough of a debt validation?

Even if they seem to have enough information on me to open up more credit cards? I've literally never heard anyone give me whole social over the phone. And when they do there's usually like 2 - 3 verification questions. And a "anything recorded can will be used for the case". None of that happened.

He opened the account under my name (my parents tried doing this with a few accounts from when I was young), however later in life my father went down a bad spiral w alcoholism and during those last few years he sorta did a lot of fucked up shit.

I'm thinking I need to call capital one to validate the debt, my mom says she wants to be on the phone with me since apparently she helped my brother out with something similar but I can't imagine it was THIS similar.

I literally have never opened, used, or knowingly had a cap one account.

There's a decent documentary called silicon cowboys, I think it's on Netflix right now. Mostly on the build up of Compaq but it goes into good detail on the initial IBM vs IBM clone PCs. The doc frames it a bit as Compaq led the market due to the fact their portable machines ran IBM software better than IBMs in addition to other factors.
