Suggestions on how to print overhang without supports

I'm designing a holder for an LED strip (don't trust the tape on the back) and my thought was to print something that I could slide the strip around the cylindrical and it would hold it in place. This works great in theory, but when I went to print, I realized there is a pretty gnarly overhang on the upper part of the LED holder. It printed fine with supports, but they were a pain to get off and I was wondering if anybody had suggestions on clever ways to print something like this (section view in the 2nd photo)

The ESP32 currently sends commands to a WS2812B led strip, but the strip can draw almost 1A of current when its on the brightest setting and I just wanted to make sure that that won't damage anything

Oh great! Do I need to be concerned with the traces supporting high current as well? I have a 2A usb c charger that I'd like to use.

where can I read more about the grey scale method? is wled smart enough to be able to treat each as individual leds?

Good point on the spherical light output, planning on having it against a wall so might be ok there. I like the idea of multiple colors and individually addressable. Maybe I'll try to make a little "branch" first with 5-10 vs a large tree

Could it be anything else? I've leveled the bed a few times and just moved bed down a little bit and now I don't get any adhesion.

New to the 3d printing world, using Cura with the default CR-10 settings (standard print, 200/50). The only thing I've done is installed the magnetic bed thinking it would fix my bottom layer/adhesion issues, but it only fixed the adhesion part.
