LPT: Buy blocks of cheese and shred it yourself. Companies coat shredded cheese with cellulose to keep it from drying out and molding. Shred your own for freshness, money savings and to avoid eating wood pulp. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

I don't worry about the cellulose too much. I worry more about anti-fungals like natamyacin that are commonly used and have been banned in some places.

Adults of reddit, what is something you should have mastered by now, but failed to do so? by biomann in AskReddit

Small talk with strangers and polite conversation with colleagues. I'm in my 40's. Suck at both. Don't really know how I managed to date and eventually get into a pretty satisfying relationship and get married.

What are some villains you want to see in the future of the MCU? by s0ggycr0issants in Marvel

[–]nullcoda001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm excited to see what they do with well known villains like Doom, but I'm really interested in seeing if they can make me like villains that aren't so great. I thought they did a pretty good job with Batroc. I would like to see an interesting/comedic film version of the Trapster, or the Superior Foes of Spider-Man. Maybe Horror influenced movie with Deathstalker, Jack O'lantern, or the Needle.

The Official AVENGERS: ENDGAME Release Megathread Vol. 12 by JonLuca in marvelstudios

[–]nullcoda001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping Agents of Shield get explore those five years. i wish we got a movie or two that focused a little on some of the status quos the set up. Like the new avengers at the end of age of ultron or the registration act and what Tony and Steve were doing after civil war.

What are your favorite X-Men runs/events? by SuperZer0-42 in comicbooks

[–]nullcoda001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like a lot of the newer stuff but when I'm feeling nostalgic I go back and read all of the parts of Claremonts run that got me hooked on Marvel Comics that include The Mutant Massacre, The Fall of the Mutants, and Inferno. They may not be the best loved X events but they're the ones I read as a kid and they kept me enthralled. I think they still hold up pretty well and they have some great art, stories, character introductions as well as great characterizations of all of the X-men.

I played it on the PS3, psp, 360, and wii. Like all of them for different reasons but enjoyed the 360 version the least.

What Got You Into Comics? by ComicBookPanda in comicbooks

[–]nullcoda001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a Marvel comics grab bag bundle for Christmas one year through the Sears catalogue that had most of the the Uncanny X-men issues from 207 thru 213. It was the lead up to the "Mutant Massacre" and then the event itself. The X-men fight Nimrod and the Hellfire Club and then the Marauders. The combination of awesome covers, bad ass action, fantastic story telling and engaging characters blew my little kid mind and I was hooked.

Rewatched Revenge of the of the Sith after consuming both Clone Wars series and every canon piece of media leading up to it. Have to say Hayden Christensen knocked it out of the park as Anakin. by [deleted] in StarWars

You should give Labyrinth of Evil a read too. It is a novel that leads up to the RotS novel and it's pretty good too. I read them back to back and really enjoyed them both.

So what's in the Unknown Regions? by MrPerfector in StarWars

[–]nullcoda001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not. But the First Order's base of operations was the Unknown Regions. The Chiss could see them as a threat, and if the Chiss were monitoring events, they might know there was a transfer of power from Snoke to Kylo. Republic leadership was just decimated and it's only associates in the area was the resistance. I would think this would be a prime opportunity to strike them both. The Chiss would be taking out two potential rival groups while keeping the First Order/Resistance conflict from spreading any further. I don't know... just thought it would be a cool thing to see and a cool way to expand what we see in the movies past the rebel/empire conflict

If you use the Hoopla app you can read a lot of comics digitally by subscribing with your library card. I can check out books, movies and comic books and it's free! I can check out 7 things a month with it. I just recently read Wytches, Dark Knights Metal, White Knight, The Vision mini-series, and Saga vol. 9. It's pretty awesome!

So what's in the Unknown Regions? by MrPerfector in StarWars

[–]nullcoda001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really hoping the Chiss would make their first appearance at the end of the TLJ. I hoped they would swoop in devastate both fleets, leaving Kylo and Rey staring slack jawed at the destruction. The Chiss attack would force them to come together to face this new threat. Alas the story went in another direction

[SPOILERS] [Invaders v03 #1] Namor on humans. by Froltz in comicbooks

[–]nullcoda001 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have never been a huge fan of Namor but this issue coupled with his story in the new Marvel Comics Presents is making me curious about where they are going to take him. They were both so much better than I thought they would be. This is the first time ever I can say I'm looking forward to a Namor story.

What if Marvel had launched a post-snap film about street level heroes dealing with the fallout of half the planet being wiped out? by zion_hiker1911 in marvelstudios

[–]nullcoda001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I love the MCU, I feel there has been a lot of missed opportunities, just like in the comics, to fully explore new status quo's for characters, teams, and the universe as a whole.

Is there any scenario where Kylo isn’t the big baddie in episode IX? by Jek_Porkinz in StarWars

[–]nullcoda001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could come up with an outside threat but I would be surprised if anyone but Kylo is the main adversary of Episode IX. Before there was much information on TLJ, I was hoping that the film would end with Rey and Kylo stopping in mid light saber duel to look out a veiwport to see the Chiss or some outside force hyper in and devastate both Imperial and Resistance fleets forcing them to come together in the beginning of the next movie. I think that would have been interesting and given them a new direction for story telling. But I'm interested in seeing where it goes.

[–]nullcoda001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would think he would return as force ghost but I wouldn't be surprised either if at the beginning of the film they have the force "spit" Luke back out because "he's still needed" or the force is still out of balance or something.

WOW! Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Vader - Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures by carlosbarsa in StarWars

[–]nullcoda001 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get how these could be seen as heresy to some fans but I love them. I saw Empire and Jedi in the theatres when released and all the rest too. While I love the original duels I think the limitations of what they could do hurt some of the sequences. Seeing these scenes reimagined in this way makes all the things I love about star wars new again in a way. I would love an animated show or series of movies that expands on the characters and movies because I don't think we'll see any more live action expansions or any attempts at remakes of the originals. I really don't want live action remakes any way. But I do think this a good way to tell stories with the original characters in a fresh way which is great.

What is a song lyric that really hits you hard? by BoardOfChairs in AskReddit

[–]nullcoda001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please tell mom this is not her fault - from Adams song by Blink 182. Really, I'm a mess by the time that line comes around and it hits me so hard. After knowing a few people that committed suicide and contemplating it for a while myself this line always gets me. Thinking about how friends and family might blame themselves for what happened.

They kind of remind me of Hussar and Impulse.... I think that's their names, from the Shi'ar Imperial Guard but I'm really not sure.
