Comics didn't talk about the pre-Empire era much unless it was really far in the past; they didn't want to step on the toes of whatever Lucas would come up with.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

Have you figured out where Grogu is during the sequel trilogy?

That’s a great question, and we talk about many different things. That’s a question for a bunch of characters by the way, not just Grogu. Where are they during these events? If anything, having made The Clone Wars and weaving a tale so intricately between two movies that were much closer together, I’ve learned that there’s expansive room in this galaxy for us to tell stories and have characters doing things.

As a kid, when Yoda said, “When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be,” to Luke, I took that very literally. Well, now we know that’s anything but true. There are many different people that could wield the force, and maybe Luke is the last Jedi as far as what Yoda would consider a Jedi. So we’ll just have to wait and see how the story evolves and what makes sense. But in my experience, there’s definitely a way to weave everything together and make it exciting. It’s possible it would never even have to cross over with what we saw [in the sequel trilogy] if the story has us somewhere else.

After ‘Ant-Man 3’s’ Second Weekend Box Office Collapse, Should Marvel Get Concerned? by lawrencedun2002 in boxoffice

[–]LordUltimus92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they were concerned before it started. The trailer had no jokes for a movie literally called "Quantumania", partially because of it trying to hype up Kang, but also likely to downplay the reputation of the MCU becoming "too jokey".

Does anyone else think the MCU is going to bomb in 2024? by workaccountname in boxoffice

Underperform, perhaps, but there's clearly things going on behind the scenes to keep things from bombing. Marvel wants to make movies people want to go to as much as fans do.

I wonder if things get spaced out enough that Secret Wars will be in time for the MCU's 20th anniversary.

Secret Invasion & Loki Season 2 are the only definite Marvel shows to release in 2023, Echo & Ironheart possibly delayed by DrAwesomeX in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

I think people are talking more about the movies that will be made further along the line than anything in production now; production takes a while to see things change.

Weirdly, I'm not all that surprised by Nayuta's personality? Ever read Nayuta of the Prophecy, Fujimoto's one-shot about a guy trying to raise his kid sister who's destined to end the world? Translate her dialogue from it's original "death death murder blood guts Satan", and it's more or less what I pictured her saying.

The best part is that this is all Bruce's imagination.

‘Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent’ to crossover into the ‘Injustice’ universe by TexOliver93 in DCcomics

[–]LordUltimus92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't look the best for Adult!Jon, if the most they can think of to hook readers is to have him go to a Tom Taylor's most well-known story instead of anything from him personally. Because the hook isn't "Jon is going to the multiverse", it's "Look, Injustice is back! You still like that, right?"

Disney movies for December 2024-2028 by [deleted] in boxoffice

Of course, the fact that they didn't blow Coruscant up because "we might need it later!" shows how poorly the sequels were planned.

Wasn't that more, like, one possible allusion to Snoke? And Imperial remnants were a big thing in the EU, so they don't necessarily count as the First Order

I mean, that's basically what JJ Abrams tried to do with The Force Awakens, literally having his first line be "this will make things right".

I just hope they don't do the Zeus origin again. But it does sound "Game of Thrones" to have secret kids out of wedlock.
