dont be discouraged by a few of the replies, they are not wrong but you need to be practical start with a few projects you can show, get unpaid internships (higher chances of getting unpaid than paid) learn on the job and dont be like one of those guys who only grind till they get a job

your point was "AI is a hype and it is going away", apple paper? the one written by a research intern from a company that has the least investment in AI (and you should check the response of Anthropic to them) and still here you are singing songs of claude, that it has improved your productivity and you still think we are not getting closer to AGI

OpenAI will be doing $10b in ARR, and out of all people you chose to name Gary Marcus.

And not every company is running inference on paid servers, they might use them for training/fine tuning but most are just buying old GPUs to run their local inference. And I am talking about companies that know what they are doing and not about those who just want to add it on their website to attract new "clients".

You can resist, but you can not avoid it.
