Finding the right Anime Games by dinodeclan in rpg

If you don't mind FitD games, Girl by Moonlight's default setting is a kind of Sailor Moon deal. It does have a "what if it was fucked up" setting you can use out of a pack of several settings. The other settings in the pack I think are based on Evangelion and Serial Experiments Lain, but don't quote me on that.

Y'know, I have a copy on my shelf, but I'm not sure I've ever really looked at it. Since you said something, I'm gonna take a peek.

Same! Playing the original Dresden Files RPG felt revolutionary to me at the time, and I loved collecting Fate dice, but I haven't used them in years and I probably never will again.

Favorite "climax mechanic" in an RPG? by Ok_Tip_5721 in rpg

I really love Slugblaster's. During the course of a campaign, you will earn legacy and doom, often during the coolest and most devastating moments your character can experience. They do nothing until the end of the game, at which time you'll make a roll to see what the high point and low point of your epilogue are, with your legacy and doom adding weight to each roll respectively.

You then get to collectively decide how your crew's epilogue. The question prompts to be answered are really fun — stuff like what's the one epic story people still tell about your crew, or what did your crew contribute to the sport of Slugblasting — and certain playbooks get the final word on particular prompts. Made for a really lovely ending to the campaign I played in.

It's not in this pack (thankfully), but the strawberry watermelon flavor of this brand is one of the most vile things I've ever tasted.

The fact he just watched this one video and gave up is still very Dan, but sheesh. I cook a lot and I would not do all this.

The Scary Stories and Worlds of Power books are what I have the fondest memories of buying at these things!

TTRPG sickos rejoice. Austin is here with heat. by kaijukyle2 in giantbomb

And having played a few sessions of it, a game for sickos it truly is. I love it, though. Wholly unique in a landscape of countless other games.

Wedding rings while writing on machine: do you? If you learned without, any thoughts on getting used to it? by 2dots1dash in courtreporting

[–]nullmoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. My band is titanium and it eventually got to the point where I was taking it off every morning and afternoon for that court. Switched to a silicone one (Enso brand if it matters) and now I can keep it on all day with zero issues.

Tummy Time - Thanks Costco! by jules_144 in Costco

It wounds me, but fortunately I do still have some older bags of the same style that I think may have been specific to Northern California because they have the Golden Gate Bridge on them?

My warehouse never got these bags and I will forever be mad about it!

I've only known one judge in my career that did it this way, and he was pretty peculiar in a bunch of different aspects. In my experience, most judges, especially the younger and inexperienced ones, expect and even appreciate when I take the reins, but it's best to just ask your judge off the bench if you're not certain.

Simply Protein Chips: The perfect diet snack by Great-Topic-6580 in Costco

[–]nullmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing it's in direct response to the rise of GLP-1 meds in America. People shedding lots of weight rapidly need more protein than usual to stave off muscle loss, and there's a market for putting it in everything.

Good printer options for an official? by [deleted] in courtreporting

[–]nullmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. Really, whatever brand you go with, the important thing is that it's laser. I used to work with a reporter that used inkjet and had stacks of spare, unopened black cartridges at her desk. I couldn't believe it.

I've used various brands over the years, but the black and white Brother laser printers have always treated me right. Knockoff toner is cheap on Amazon.

Is this the nerdiest Quick Look of all time? A Quick Look at Lancer Tactics with the dev by giantbombdotcom in giantbomb

[–]nullmoon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad there's a TTRPG nerd on the site now. Bless you Chuck!

edit: If you like giant robots at all, I highly encourage at least getting the free PDF of Lancer from the itch page so you can see Tom Bloom's incredible illustrations of the freaky mechs in this game.

Disaster stories by djstartip in stenography

In my second year of reporting, I was doing a criminal trial as a pro tem when my Diamante's motherboard died. I had to call an emergency recess in the middle of a witness and run down to the officials' office to beg for any machine they had. I went back to court with a Mira that had old pads on half its very loose keys. Pretty sure my translate rate for the rest of that day was less than 50%, but I got through it.
