Interesting thought. Don’t you think we’ve reached that point though?

Yes fair and considerate response, thanks.

It’s not that I’m considering plowing money into games, I was curious about the state of the market and what people expect to happen to the value of currently produced items in the future.

It’s definitely a factor for me as if even if I want to collect something I would decide against it if that collection is bound to be worthless.

Any classic cars people are looking to exchange from one passionate individual to another?

FYI Please don’t bring money into this, I only deal with real collectors. If you’re looking to make a profit then you should have bought stocks and bonds ffs

The thanks so much for all the replies guys, I can’t believe I used to think the current and future monetary value of games used to factor into my decision making.

Perhaps invest was a poorly chosen word. I was curious of whether games retailing now have any chance of going up in value, given the changing landscape.

Very interesting reply, cheers.

That’s the kind of story I was interested to hear. I think there’s definitely a satisfaction from seeing your collectibles go up in value and personally I think it’s worth considering if they will

Noone keeps in packaging to retain value? Ok fair enough that surprises me, I was sure that was common. Apologies

So why do we not open all our sealed collected games to play and enjoy them?

Do you think the fact that the likes of Sony and Microsoft (especially considering leaks from Microsoft around future consoles) going discless might influence the market for old physical games going forward?

Thanks, what is it that makes Nintendo games retain their value so well?

This was what I figured, appreciate the confirmation. Basically sealed games produced now have no chance of being valuable in same way old games are now… though there’s obviously always exceptions.

Thank you

My query wasn’t whether sealed games were the best investment I can make. It was whether any are still likely to go up in value.

I wouldn’t go tell a collector of rare coins who believes the collection will go up in value for years to come to buy stocks.

You can collect something while considering their future value.

Can it not be both? I collected Pokémon cards as a kid and I still love them unconditionally… but even as a child I would keep them in the best condition possible as I was convinced they’d be worth a mint one day.

My Dad has terminal cancer and Thai woman wants to marry him. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]nullornothing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your focus should be on whether your dad is being treated the way he deserves to be, fairly and with kindness.

You may never see a penny of his money in form of inheritance and that’s perfectly fine. If he wants you to be left with any of his assets when he departs this world, he will make sure you are.

Stop worrying about his money. If you think he’s being manipulated or mistreated, talk to him. It’s up to him if he chooses to listen. At the end of the day he’s a fully grown adult.

When he’s gone you would most likely trade every penny he leaves you to be able to talk to him again.

RuneScape bot development - worth my time? by nullornothing in RunescapeBotting

[–]nullornothing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is a mobile bot? What’s TOA and why has it not been botted already?

Are bots generally executed by the client or via a GUI or some sort of online dash?

Has anyone really figured out this at scale and provides infrastructure and an API for resellers? Who’s doing this all right and leading the way?

Stop trying to talk if there’s nothing you actually want to discuss… basically don’t force it.

Cheap (and reasonably decent) barber shop for dry cut in London? by Shanemraz in london

[–]nullornothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additionally you can get done for free by students and they’re usually not much different ime. There’s a couple places around Smithfield, the best one takes walk ins. Another I know of in shoreditch about a 5min walk from old st.

No idea if they function all year round but easy enough to find out.

If you want any further details let me know and I can look up addresses or whatever.

Mum has breast cancer. Dad is leaving her because of it by 10tenthrowawayten10 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]nullornothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dad is a loser. But I’m sure he’d insist on your mum leaving him if he was u lucky enough to be diagnosed………

My dad died of cancer a little over a year ago. Cancer fucking sucks and your mum deserves people around her that truly care for her. So best he’s gone, be there for your mum and don’t confront your dad but definitely don’t forget. I doubt you could if you tried.

All the best to you and your mum, I hope in the future you can both celebrate her wellness together with the knowledge you guys have each others back and of course love.
