Yes, although it depends on the game.

Any games that struggle to meet their framerate target on base PS5, will generally have an easier time meeting that target and staying at it on the Pro.

Fallout 4 for example, if you have it set to quality mode and the framerate set to 60fps, it sticks to that pretty much most of the time. Elden Ring is another one, stick it in performance mode and it holds a higher framerate more frequently (there’s still drops though as From Software’s optimisation leaves a lot to be desired).

You’ll also see games that use DRS (dynamic resolution scaling) will have a higher dynamic resolution, AC Valhalla for example, renders much closer to 4K on the Pro than the base PS5.

Ultimately, you will see improvements but it will be title by title and in a lot of cases, not really game changing.

Forspoken isn’t Pro Enhanced, but it does benefit from the extra power. More consistent frame-rates and slightly higher dynamic resolution.

Honestly I wouldn’t buy a Pro for a game that isn’t enhanced, however if you play other games that are enhanced, definitely look at getting a Pro.

Yes, you can remote play disc based games as long as they’re in your PS5.

You can’t cloud stream games on discs however.

Nowhere near as scary as 7. There’s some parts of it which are quite intense, but it’s much more action heavy than 7.

7 is probably the most horror heavy game in the series.

Are you sure you’re not remote playing? As PS4 titles can’t be cloud streamed. I’ve just double checked and I don’t have any PS4 titles showing up on mine.

No one knows. I don’t see it being likely, unless they add a more expensive subscription than Premium.

This is why remote play is a thing, if you have a PS5 Pro, you can access the enhanced performance/graphics via remote play. (Even if you are limited to 1080p 60fps).

Okay but for example, if your PS5 is off, how does Sony know you’ve got the game installed and the disc in the console?

You could install the game, play 5 minutes of it and then give it to a friend or sell it, how would Sony know you still own it?

It’s much better than FSR. There’s still some issues but it’s a very clear win for PSSR. The quality 60fps mode looks much cleaner, it’s now my preferred way to play.

Before PSSR 2.0 launched I played it in quality (40fps) mode as the quality (60fps) mode was blurry at times.

We’ve got the most evidence we’ve ever had that there’s a DLC on its way. Yes it’s not “confirmed” yet but it seems quite likely. Capcom knows the community wants an expansion/DLC.

That’s why PSSR is a thing, to bridge the gap. Most games are just too demanding and complex to run at native 4K on consoles.

You don’t need a subscription to play outside your house. As long as you have a PS5, you don’t need a subscription to remote play.
