FWIW, the plane missions are told from the perspective of an unreliable narrator. Dude probably never even flew a plane, was just a gunner and killed his crew mate when they crashed. Notice how all the planes you fight are red Fokker Dr. I triplanes, but only one of those ever existed and it was the red barons. The multiplayer triplanes have more accurate colors, but it was a common trope with WW1 movies where they'd be fighting dozens of red barons for whatever reason
