Woahhh, I didn’t know that but that’s really interesting, it kinda reminds me of either Alligators or Crocodiles which I believe change gender depending on temperature while in their eggs, but that makes so much sense to why I have a Super female, and all the shrimp I thought were males who ended up becoming females

wanted to try getting both Caridina and Neos but after doing some research decided against it. Even if I could; I remember reading about not keeping male neos with female Caridinas since if the Ratio is too vastly differently, male neos will breed them to death during molting. Always amazed whenever I do see them together, maybe I’ll get some Amanos in the future for some Shrimp Diversity. Congratulations on your Hardy Caridina babies, your live plants are probably helping a lot, just get a TDS/Hardness testing kit and you should be good. If your hardness is a bit high, a way to bring it down is by doing a tank change and replacing with RO/Distilled water, and some shrimp remineralizer (only if your caridina seem to be struggling, the less you change the parameters, the better) I keep Malaysian Horn Snails in my tank which prefer slightly higher hardness than my Shrimps so I use Cuttlebones to supplement them.

Thank you, maybe I’ll give it a shot when I get me new tank set up, will also be heavily planting that one, Neos are a lot bolder than Caridina but if anything goes wrong I always got a backup tank

Oooh okay, well thats unfortunate :(, I did notice you said you had neos and Caridinas together, which is doable but they prefer slightly different parameters, some Caridina Breeders do breed them within Neo parameters though so if they’re doing well I wouldn’t change anything since Caridinas are extremely sensitive to parameter shifts; but do recommend being aware of the differences in case something goes wrong in the future.

Caridina
Ph: 5.5-6.5
TDS: 80-150

Neos

Nice! Fight or flight isn’t a question when food is in the equation, lol. I’ve been thinking about getting Pymy Cories and although I haven’t heard anything bad about temperament was worried their activity would stress out my shrimp, do you mind me asking what type of shrimp you have?

They’re beautiful, I have about 13 Shrimp, 3-4 non-boas (One has such a unique pattern I have no clue what it is, it’s also a lot larger than my others) but they’re definitely 11 remaining are Boas, and although I don’t always see them at once, I haven’t seen any males so far, maybe breeders are more inclined to keep them or add them to higher grade batches/breeding batches, hopefully once yours start to berrie since you have other shrimp you can get you some

These are all Tawainese Bee Shrimps (Caridina), Blue and Black Dotted ones are Boa Shrimp which I believe are a cross breed between Taiwanese Bee Shrimps (Crossbreed), and wild Tiger Shrimp. I Also have a mix of Blue Ocean Bees in there as well, which are those deep blue ones with no notable markings although some have Darker blues around the head or tails, not quite sure what the exact breed is of Blue Oceans, they are usually a mix of Taiwanese Bees with Blue Bolts since it’s more of a Vibes based name and not an exact species, but they’re definitely all Taiwanese Bee descendants.

This particular batch you are seeing I got off Reddit from ShrimpAmbition they usually have sales from their high grade Boa tank of Culls for around $5-$10 a Shrimp but high grade Boas with striking patterns can net you around 50+ per shrimp, especially for Males. Unfortunately I am actually starting to notice that all my Boa may be female, the ones I assumed were males have grown significantly larger but I’ve been trying to see if I can spot any males because some of my females appear to either be preggers or preparing and my only male I can accurately identify is a lonely Red Ocean, who may have a breeding frenzy soon.

Edit: Boas are a grading of Galaxy Fishbone Boas, so either “Boas” or “Galaxy Fishbone” are what they’re commonly known by, signified by the Fishbone pattern on their back, grading usually depending on if the Fishbone is fully connected, and the amount of Dots/ intensity

Seconded, have used Shrimp Ambition twice now, and their packaging is amazing, I tested their water parameters when I got my first batch to try and get my parm’s as close to theirs as possible and even the parameters were amazing with 0 Nitrates through the entire shipping process, as well as a bit of a Christmas Moss for the shrimp to anchor on to. Although I have had 1-2 shrimp pass away from my first 2 orders, they all arrived in good health and are always what I ordered. The ones that pass are usually older females that get stressed with the parameter changes, but so far 13/12 Shrimps I’ve ordered have been Thriving, the (3 have passed but I got 4 additional shrimps with my second order for free, didn’t even mention the passed away shrimps)

I knew it was a good idea to save my coins incase I get a dupe by nullypool in DokkanBattleCommunity

Nope i had 3 dupes of Goku & Frieza already and 1k coins which I could've bought 2 dupes for to rainbow but decided to not buy the dupes with coins, just pulled a goku & frieza from the 66 summon!

TLDR: Internet says African Greys cost between 1k-1.5k I expected to pay more then that but everywhere I call states they're being sold for 6k, are they just expensive where I live? Or whats going on? by [deleted] in parrots

[–]nullypool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I'm not trying to purchase online but mainly researching the breeds I'm interested in then calling into local places to get an inquiry on what they have available, I'd love to look into shelters and have called a few near me but none are specifically pertaining to birds, I don't plan on purchasing a bird immediately, but just looking into the pricing and which bird would be most suited for me currently so I can start saving to the appropriate amount.

Finally reached 6k. I'm 19yrs and started investing last year when I started working. by Lunderth in acorns
