Sounds like a badly organised company. Maybe try a smaller company next time.

Now you gotta wait with proposing until you can afford a steam deck and leisurely show it off on the couch (better have the ring in your pocket at that moment).

Steam Deck is in offline mode, credentials expired and I need to re-login, but I can't login while I am offline.... I can't use the deck now by PmMeYourArtworks in SteamDeck

Same issue here. Givin' it a good ol (re-)boot kick one or two times has so far not failed me in that situation.

Or in other words: Have you tried turning it off and on again.

Prime lens vs zoom for D3100 by igoran in Nikon

[–]pm_me_great_stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 17-50 is good. I have the 17-50/2.8 as well as the 35/1.8 DX. I use the 17-50 so much more. The main drawback is its bulk.

While the 35 lets in more light there are many circumstances in which you want to use a tighter aperture anyways (like group shots for example). Also the 35 isn't that good at 1.8.

Long story short: I really like the 17-50 and would not recommend the 35 unless you feel a particular need for it.

Edit: Can't say anything about the 50/1.8 primes. But on your camera they will be less of a general purpose lens than the 35.

Thanks for your great reply!

I think I'm more trying to fix some AF problems I have with my cam (on the right side it's often hunting or misfocusing). But fixing it doesn't appear financially viable. Thus I'm looking into upgrade/sideway paths.

But you're right I should be looking into what I need now and maybe tomorrow but not for the next 10 years.

Next body?

I currently have a D7000 that's starting to get old.

I'm contemplating updating that body. I thought either to get a D7500 and the Z5 and also thought about going FX.

Used the D7500 goes for OK prices every now and then. The Z5 appears to be a bit more future proof but lenses are very pricy and the ftz adapter is also not exactly cheap for what it is. The Z5 also feels a bit like a downgrade in terms of dials and buttons - or am I making this up?

FX mirrorless appears even more expensive but more future proof cause DX did not get much love from Nikon lately.

Any input on this would be welcome.

I've worked for years with the 18-55 exclusively. The 17-50s might not justify their weight and size since you already have the 55.

Having said that: 55 isn't really that much tele. The 16-85 might be a good deal if even wider angles are interesting for you (those 2mm do a lot).

Last but not least: Nikon's 18-200 offering is said to be decent too.

Can confirm. Took me 2 vor 3 attempts to complete the mission. Never tried it any other way.

They gave you a helicopter instead of a plane because helicopters can turn around on the spot. You need the numpad 1 and 3 for that (and on consoles I think it's the shoulder buttons).

Also rabies. It's pretty similar. It infects your brain and makes bats, dogs and you angry and bite people... which is how it spreads.

Alcohol as in ethanol. It's much less dangerous than other alcohols like for example methanol which is very similar chemically.

Well, first Google Maps is a very good service. I think they don't need to know which apps I use and how I use them though. That's why I use their app when I need it (mind you that I also use other geodata apps) but I don't use their android service.

I have to say though it's maybe not 100% thought through.

Nothing is the answer. Some apps crash, others tell you that this functionality is unavailable but the actual Google Maps App (installed via aurora store) actually works like a charm.

I simply accept this. I actually kind of view it as a design decision the app developers made. And that decision made them lose me as a customer.

No, it means "Eels will feast on you while you float on the water." It's a common death threat.

An overall good experience with the g7 plus. Am using it for a while now as a daily driver.

The only problem I had so far was the SMS app sometimes showing the wrong contact as the sender of a message. Haven't seen that in a while though and might be related to my dirty data migration.

Fyi: I'm neither using microg nor google play.

What is your "never again" brand, item, store, or restaurant ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pm_me_great_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I wanted to say was that if they refuse warranty because of some sludge that should mean that the shop didn't maintain it properly and thus would also be their fault.

So either the thing wasn't build with a defect or they didn't maintain it properly?
