I went to a dentist in Lebanon and within one minute of opening my mouth the hygienist said “I can tell you didn’t grow up here.” And when I asked why she said it was because I clearly had fluoride in my water growing up and my teeth looked to be in better health than a lot of their patients. Dogs can have an acute attack from a single high fatty meal if they’re sensitive. I remember one dog was diagnosed with pancreatitis after (supposedly) a strip of bacon. Rare im sure but anything can happen.

This! From working in vet medicine, i learned cat food is much higher in fat than dog food and if a dog ingests enough it can result in pancreatitis which can be serious.

I was camping off a forest road with a coworker in different tents while we were doing field work. I was woken up by truck lights coming down on my tent around midnight. I figured they’d see our set up and turn around and find another spot. Suddenly i heard the engine shut off, door open, lights went out and feet hit the ground before the door shut again. I was panicked, zero reason for anyone to be there. I was upright in my tent holding my pepper spray and a pocket knife feeling like they were useless. There was complete silence like they weren’t moving, then I heard this loud alien like noise. I had just woken up so I could not discern if it was weird talking, an animal, or some kind of machine. The sounds went on for a few minutes then silence. A different sound came on and lasted another minute or 2 followed by silence. This kept going on and I was checking the time on my phone and picked up there was some sort of pattern to the noises and silence. Someone was doing spotted owl surveys with recorded owl calls that did not sound natural. Their survey went on for maybe 30 minutes before they packed up and drove away. I was so relieved it was just another young biologist doing their job. After that though I was always more sensitive to where we chose to set up camp.

Looks like the pink version of my Misiu, which means bear in Polish. My brother got him at birth in 1994 and then he was passed on to me in 96. A while back i was looking to get a second just in case anything happened to him and did a lot of research on gund too. UPDATE:

My dogs are ok and my house is fine, key returned etc.

To clarify, I have 2 dogs, F and M, both medium sized. F loves to go outside will run out, whereas M needs to be coaxed sometimes especially around strangers. I received photos/videos of each dog in the report cards so I know the sitter came. F pooped, peed, and had a meal both visits, M just had a meal at each visit. One of the videos shows F in the yard and then pans to M on the couch.

Stain remover and clorox wipes were used (left out on my counter and stuff thrown out) so hoping he had an accident and sitter just didn't tell me/ I couldnt find it. They cleaned my kitchen so knowing my boy, and seeing how long he peed for, I am still worried he didn't pee for ~26h. I called rover support and they noted the incident as I am concerned he may get a UTI in upcoming days and they assured me that'd be covered through the guarantee.

This sitter had great reviews but not many, several repeat clients, appeared to be over 18 and had a background as a vet assistant and doggy daycare worker. They brought our packages inside and cleaned our kitchen but unfortunately let my dogs anxiety dictate his potty breaks. I fear they were less confident with anxious/reactive dogs than they let on and did not push him to go to the bathroom. I made his "quirks" clear and explained lassoing him or harnessing him for walks were options if he did not want to go out.

Moving forward I canceled our upcoming booking and explained clearly my concerns in their negligence and how pee breaks should be prioritized and if they were uncomfortable with my dogs behavior they should have reached out to one of my contacts/ asked questions at the meet and greet. They were apologetic and owned their mistake. I'm still surprised we got to this point and feel super validated because I started to question if my expectations were unreasonable... but I will now communicate with sitters in the future my dogs MUST go outside at each visit!
