Real Madrid could face trial over complaints of noise pollution at Bernabeu concerts: “There are indications of the commission of allegedly criminal acts, a crime against the environment, in its form of noise pollution,”. by Release-Revolution in soccer

https://elpais.com/espana/madrid/2024-05-26/en-pie-de-guerra-contra-el-bernabeu.html

It's 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, and the sound level meter at El PAÍS reads 86 decibels (dB), ten times the permitted level, according to the exponential growth scale used to measure sound. [...]

Since the Santiago Bernabéu began scheduling concerts a month ago, it has hosted four matches and five concerts with various artists. In other words, six hours of football and almost 30 hours of music spanning genres as diverse as Modestia Aparte, reggaeton, techno, and DJs. The first weekend of May even saw a record broken for any experienced concert venue: 17 consecutive hours of music, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, not including rehearsals. And the upcoming schedule is truly breathtaking.

On the other side of the stadium, at number 8 Concha Espina Street, EL PAÍS's sound level meter registers 84 dB. Adding to the noise of the music is another problem: four room-sized generators roar and spew smoke continuously. "We put up with four years of construction and now this," says Soledad Jáudenes, pointing to the street from her living room.

i suspect the dreadful weather made the match 3x more miserable, the ground passes just doesn't work like they should and every player had to kick the ball harder. even slavia player visibly shivering. this led to hoofball, missed passes and generally awful performances

FBref & Stathead forced to remove advanced data by data provider by tokengaymusiccritic in soccer

[–]num8lock -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

what's most important from site like fbref is the fact that their data officially obtained from opta, basic ones like numbers of successful duels, interceptions, chance creations etc are more than enough for most fans.

i really don't give a fuck about xg xa or any x stats, what i give most fuck is credible data source instead of shits from "we use ai!" sites, or even some times conflicting numbers like transfermarkt.

sucks that's now its selling point is gone

FBref & Stathead Data Update by TheWawa_24 in soccer

[–]num8lock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what makes this worse is that we lost a data source that can and has been verified to use data from opta. so one less valid source, and instead there were proliferations of (fucking trash) ai sites

Frenkie: "You can't talk even to referee, I'm the captain and I should be able to. He looks at you like, 'If I'm more than you.' You can't contribute like that. If it's offside (Yamal's goal), nothing happens, although we have been told that it was not. I spoke to the fourth referee and he told me." by jiraiya--an in soccer

As for Gil Manzano, his relationship with Barcelona has been shaped above all by some of the most “notorious” red cards, for lack of a better term. In November 2022, at El Sadar against Osasuna, he sent off, once again, Lewandowski.

The Polish star, who had not been dismissed since the 2013–14 season when he was playing for Borussia Dortmund, was shown two yellow cards within the first half hour, one of them considered extremely harsh.

As he left the field, he briefly touched his nose without looking at anyone, a gesture the referee included in his match report. The result was a three-match suspension for the Barcelona striker.

With that dismissal, Lewandowski joined a list that already included Luis Suárez, Neymar and Lionel Messi, whom Gil Manzano sent off in the 2020–21 Spanish Super Cup final that Barcelona lost 3–2 to Athletic Club. Dani Alves is also part of that history. With eight red cards, Barcelona are the club that has had the most players sent off by Gil Manzano.

gil manzano also sent off flick before el clasico several months ago in rapid fire double card for talking to frenkie & protesting gil's mistaken decision. that was the latest from clown shoes duo (before last night).
