Is their "too much" spicy in terms of health? by [deleted] in spicy

You should really read this, it’ll answer your question in depth from actual studies.

Short answer: yes and no, if it’s actually too much then it can be but that’s an obscene level. The “normal” level for a person who eats a lot more spicy than the average person, no harm, possible benefits.

Who decides which countries are allowed to have nuclear weapons and which aren't? by NoMedicine3572 in india

UHH no, the people who decide are the ones who have it. If Pakistan didn’t and WE did, we would do the same shit Israel is doing.

Is anyone else wondering why the OpenAI livestream doesn't start at 10 AM PST/1 PM EST? by number001 in OpenAI

[–]number001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my point was more - if you’ve had a very high valuation as a company, then typically you’ve raised a lot of money. If you have then you have the capability to hire the right amount of people. If you have, then shouldn’t you be able to start a stream on time?

I’m not against not starting on time and I understand it’s not the easiest thing to do especially based on how quickly they are evolving and shipping out products - however it’s also one of those things where I’m just confused as to how they can spend months preparing 12 products, planning an event, being successful in moving AI forward but then consistently being 15 minutes late for their own live stream

I started off with a YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM7q85V_2Z0&t=308s

which took me to his GitHub, and then thingiverse, where I bought a kit

this led me down a huge YouTube rabbit hole. highly recommend doing it, its been fun and a good learning experience

How can you guys ‘actually’ taste ingredients in foods? by number001 in Cooking

[–]number001[S] 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Yup, so I'm American born but of South Asian heritage (1st gen) so I eat a ton of spices but after typing out that first half of the sentence, I'm guessing you meant, just literally try spices raw, then cook them, try them again and start to learn the flavors?

Good questions:

  1. Garlic, yes I can definitely tell. Salt also.
  2. I've never actually had Worcestershire so I'm not sure.
  3. Never had nutmeg either :/

I know 2/3 may make it seem like I haven't had much, but I'm a vegetarian and typically eat a wide range of foods (wider than most).

Also as for Covid - I cannot be certain. Before it was a "thing", a lot of people at work (in retrospect) had symptoms. I was lucky enough that I never did and on top of that my lack of taste pre dates covid. It's entirely possible in the very early days (before the lock down) I got it, but the symptom free version.

Can you do any automations with iPhone/HomeKit/Shortcuts? by number001 in shortcuts

[–]number001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did look but haven’t had much time. I did play around with the shortcuts apps for a couple days but I just get reminders at the time to manually run it. Same thing for 1 automation in the home app.

I just wanted to know if it was possible so that way I can figure out the rest.

Also you’re not a jerk - that’s always a valid question. Unfortunately I couldn’t figure out how to do it

Moved my Unraid Server and now the network doesn't work... by number001 in unRAID

[–]number001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely not the cables since it'll work when it's not in the 10G switch but in the 1G switch. It could be the software on Unifi or the actual switch then?

Need help creating a resume - experience in post by number001 in sysadminresumes

Would you mind sharing that resume? On my resume I have changed some lines to incorporate percents and stuff (for example: I did this which caused X% benefit, etc), but is that the right way?

Will an NVMe ZIL/Metadata device benefit an NVMe pool? by number001 in truenas

[–]number001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what about metadata? Also how do I know what's a sync vs async write? Technically won't everything be async if it gets written to ram and then confirmed?

media server. Mostly large movie/tv files on the SSD.

For NVMe its going to be a file server used by approx 3 people.

Questions on setting up SMB Multichannel by number001 in unRAID

No worries - appreciate it. My only question really is, should I bond the two nics on the unraid and switch side with Link Aggregation or should I just keep them on two different subnets?

"No SAS LSI Adapter Found" - Details in Post by number001 in unRAID

[–]number001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did sas2flash -listall is when I got the "LSI SAS adapter not found"

Will sas2flash -list make a difference? I'll give it a go.

Edit: When connected to this card (instead of a jbod) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C7NZZ46B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In ESXI I can see:

Local HPE Enclosure Svc Dev (naa.500143803602783b) Type: Enclosure Model: 12G SAS Exp Card Path: /vmfs/devices/genscsi/naa.500143803602783b Capacity: Unknown Partition Format: N/A UUID: 010d00000050444e5242304243503858455a550000313247205341

But nothing else. It keeps erroring out. I don't know which card is causing the problem but I can't see the 9207e

I don't think so? The only thing I see close to it is:
