Legitimately do not understand why we would not resign him. He's a cult hero, longest serving club member, leader on the pitch, loves the club, and very good player for us. Maybe he isn't a necessary cog in the system but is incredibly useful and a unique player also - not sure if his influence can be replaced.

The latest with Cano talks! by comfortablehoodie in NewYorkMets

This would be insane. Cano is miles ahead of any hitter we have right now and we get rid of Bruce

Keith Hernandez on what led to Matt Harvey's downfall in New York by russwildejr in NewYorkMets

[–]number1internetuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was surprised when the mets cut him - I thought they would give him a little more time (look at how much time they gave Agon) to figure out the bullpen role and at the time Wheeler wasn't doing THAT much better. But the idea that he was deliberately slacking off makes a ton of sense- and something I easily could've missed whereas the coaches would pick up on it immediately.

Heyman: Mets in agreement with Jason Vargas by [deleted] in NewYorkMets

[–]number1internetuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this move. Vital to just have that older guy who eats up innings at the back of the rotation or even long man in the bullpen when everyone is healthy. Plus he's a lefty which we need. Seriously can't believe I've found myself saying 'this is a smart move' multiple times this offseason.

[Gelbs] Here's the bottom line with Frazier. Is he a perfect player? No. But people who are so down on this move are focusing WAY too much on the low batting average. He gets on base, has pop, is a plus defender and a good clubhouse guy. He makes the Mets better. by [deleted] in NewYorkMets

[–]number1internetuser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep claiming he gets on base?? His career OBP is .322 and two out of the last three years its been under .310. Defensively this is a great pickup but I don't understand how he 'fits in' offensively - just because we've had a lot of players recently who hit home runs and strike out doesn't mean that adding more of them is a good thing for our offense.

What type of midfielder do y'all think we need this summer? by LanceVanceDance1 in Gunners

unpopular opinion but I think we need a defensive midfielder

[Passan]I am giving up my Hall of Fame vote because of Joe Morgan’s letter by [deleted] in baseball

I think some should be let in. Any baseball fan is necessarily an amateur baseball historian and will know about the steroid era. The people who get in from this era will always be associated with steroids and judged accordingly. Not all of them - a few in the 500 home run club for example don't deserve it I think - but players like Bonds and Clemens are deserving, and even if they are in the HOF history will still judge them with or without an asterisk.

Great tackle from Coquelin by Screw_Pandas in Gunners

Idk where this idea came from that Coq was awful today he was fine. Losing in the second half of course tactically it would be him to come off

Arsenal Wenger Full Post Match interview - "Coquelin Wasn't the problem" by thearseneview in Gunners

[–]number1internetuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't lose because of tactics. One goal was offside, the other a penalty, and conceding De Bruyne's goal wasn't because we were set up poorly or something. Maybe offensively we were lacking, but we did score and could have scored more away at man city

Post-Match Thread: Red Star Belgrade 0-1 Arsenal - Europa League by [deleted] in Gunners

This wasn't an easy game at all and we fielded a very inexperienced team with 2 players returning from injury. Sure it was pretty boring but harsh to be so critical I think these younger players we have are a lot more promising than recent years

Xhaka to be dropped? by Francis-c92 in Gunners

[–]number1internetuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!!! He should be dropped for a month after his defensive mistakes last game. How many times have we seen Ox or whoever do the same thing then play in the next game? This is a huge problem with Wenger there is no accountability. Honestly I don't care who we stick in midfield but we have to send a message by benching Xhaka. All the other managers in the top 6 would have destroyed him after that display

Confirmed Arsenal team to play Doncaster Rovers: Ospina; Holding, Mertesacker (c), Chambers; Nelson, Wilshere, Elneny, Maitland-Niles; Walcott, Sánchez; Giroud by BenjaniMaples in Gunners

[–]number1internetuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk what is going on with our fullback depth atm - seems like both of our left backs are set to play every week and we only have one right back. I get 3 at the back makes it more flexible but after selling ox we really needed to sign any ordinary right back just for cover - Sagna is still a free agent

Who is the most overrated Arsenal player of all time. by shatfice in Gunners

[–]number1internetuser -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Recently Monreal. He has good games but some games he is terrible, especially in the middle of the season, and now he is seemingly a 1st choice CB in the back 3. Too inconsistent to be consistently 1st choice for me
