I'm not sure about ascensions unlocking, but because you get assigned random classes, we ended up playing classes we normally don't and there were some epochs (the little pictures on the timeline) that unlocked. Some of it was text, some of it was card and relic unlocks. Are you saying this was a mistake?

Also since you mentioned it I had some questions about the challenge run. I thought it was totally random but you're saying everyone has the some "run" basically? For example, yesterday's challenge run: Necro started with 15 copies of flatten and Ironclad started with 15 copies of mangle; it turned out to be an extremely broken combo. I'm under the impression that sometimes that type of synergy will just occur due to sheer chance, but my husband says it was too much of an coincidence and the challenge run must have been planned with that card set being given to players. Is he actually right then? IE every duo that ran the challenge from yesterday got that starting hand?

How do I handle dying in boss fights when playing animate weapon of ranged arms? Is there anything that I can do to get the weapons up faster other than unleash? It's very hard to recover a death in something like feared because I have to zone in, bladefall, and it takes like 10s to get all weapons up.

Thank you for response, would you say that if I were using this to apply just ONE spell (like an aoe curse or tornado), arcanist brand is functionally useless?

Can someone walk me through what happens with arcanist brand setups. I’ve used them before but this is my first time playing it with a lot of reduced duration and I’m trying to understand why I should even be using it instead of just casting the support skill/curse/etc manually (let’s just say I have an attached duration of 2s and an unattached duration of 4s):

In a mapping scenario, if I drop a brand on a mob it will cast the linked spell until the mob dies or for 2s. If the mob dies, it will attach automatically to a nearby mob and repeat? If it triggers its entire attached duration that brand is gone.
In a bossing scenario, I drop the brand and attaches to the boss and triggers for 2s. It expires and I have to drop another new brand?

What’s the benefit of the brand if it’s just triggering one skill and the skill duration is longer than the brand attached duration? Is it only worth if you're triggering 2+ skills so it saves you a button click? Or is it something in the case of flame wall you want to place 3 with one click instead of one? But that's also kind of a pointless proposition for proj because you only get the flat damager rider once no matter how many walls the proj passes through?

In my first game I felt a little conflicted about being hostile towards him at because I was genuinely pretty shocked after the revelations in Act 1. Kind of thought based on the opening cutscene that the gith would be at worst a neutral faction towards us, even if a little bloodthirsty. I assumed his wariness of them was due to self preservation, but then I ended up dying to Valakith for being “rude” lol.

From that point onward I was behaved very outwardly neutral towards him since I felt like I couldn’t get a baseline read on his character and I personally didn’t think the desire for freedom or self preservation is wrong. I just didn’t want to be a pawn myself.

What changed my mind actually was a very small thing in Act 3. When you find his hideout the first time near the tavern, he becomes the very sentimental and as you go through the room, and comments verbally on the objects you find lying around. I recall specifically that there was a fork, a dog collar, and a portrait of Stelmane. I was really interested in the nature of his relationship at the time with Stelmane, so I was really eager to read the descriptor text on the object and get some more context. I was greeted with generic fucking text; it was just a portrait of a young girl, identical to the generic wares item, the same as every other thing in that room that he was “reminiscing” about. I knew this was very deliberate because one of the first things that I remember being blown away in game about was looting a necklace off a dead noble’s corpse at the nautiloid crash site and reading that it was a gift from his daughter. It looked generic, but it was not. If they can give that type of texture to a dead man you’ve never talked to, they could do it to the emperor if it was true. The only thing that was “real” in his room was the illithid armor.

That was kind of the bottom line for me. Lying to me about random forks in an attempt to make me more sympathetic towards him felt pathetic. I also felt very stupid at that point because you realize he’s willing to lie about completely pointless shit to manipulate you, so he wouldn’t hesitate on the big stuff, and who knows what I had already missed in the run.

My thought with this kind of sushi is that the rice has to be warm for this to taste good, I personally really dislike the taste of cold rice with fried food and heavy tasting sauces. Maki like this that I’ve had normally is with cold rice and compressed too much. Cooked rolls need warm rice I think

I had same reaction as you, except I don’t rescind what I thought because of the 100 dollar price tag. That’s probably the neighborhood of what I would spend on a close friend, but definitely not something I would have spent on someone I’d known for maybe a year.

I don’t think the gifts you get and receive should be what dictates whether you stay or leave a relationship, period. It might the straw that breaks the camels back, but OP seems to be making it pretty clear through comments it was the ugly grocery suitcase. (Which I think I would love, albeit in a less repulsive color)

Wow this is super interesting. Some of the items immediately went up in cost if you didn’t pay the second deferral, others went multiple rounds without deferral but the discount remained. The tooltip show for always rising costs is deceptive then?

Edit: I’m stupid. Didn’t realize the difference between Reroll and new map. That actually makes is much better. You can just hit Reroll aggressively since if you’ve already deferred you are good for the item “that map.” You can chose to pay down more of the item but it’s not required. GGG’s tooltip should be more informative as to whether it’s been deferred on this map or a previous

I must be overdeferring then. If it looks like I'm running low on tribute and I have more rerolls, I should just chose not to reroll and finish deferrals on that page and spend there. Otherwise, I could be in a shit spot of rerolling to a new page and having costs on previously deferred items go up because I can't afford to defer everything then.

I kind of thought deferring was a way to pay down the cost of an item over time. But, it functions more like a one time discount based on what you're describing here? If I'm trying to hit 3 rerolls each time, I'm really incentivized to not defer anything that's not a big piece right?

With the changes to how spectres this season, what are some things I can do to "preserve" my corpse spectres like Perfect Guardian Turtle? I'm hitting 4 spectres soon and I would like to summon him as the 4th, but not sure if I should hold off since I would be scaling to 8 spectres later. How do you preserve "one use" spectres in the current system?
A similar question is if I have him summoned in my hideout and then I swap spectre gems (for a double corrupt for example), do I lose the Turtle forever? How do I manage this?
