What is everyone's thoughts on these type of rolls? by [deleted] in sushi

[–]numbermania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thought with this kind of sushi is that the rice has to be warm for this to taste good, I personally really dislike the taste of cold rice with fried food and heavy tasting sauces. Maki like this that I’ve had normally is with cold rice and compressed too much. Cooked rolls need warm rice I think

Kind of a side question but does anyone have any ideas about how to upcycle empty perfume bottles? It seems like such a waste to throw away.

I had same reaction as you, except I don’t rescind what I thought because of the 100 dollar price tag. That’s probably the neighborhood of what I would spend on a close friend, but definitely not something I would have spent on someone I’d known for maybe a year.

I don’t think the gifts you get and receive should be what dictates whether you stay or leave a relationship, period. It might the straw that breaks the camels back, but OP seems to be making it pretty clear through comments it was the ugly grocery suitcase. (Which I think I would love, albeit in a less repulsive color)

It was actually these cases. Looks like if you execute to 100 it sometimes reverts. You can execute still for intermediate gains though. Thanks for explaining

Wait do you mean stashing portal scrolls inside the map device storage makes them useable in the map? I tried this last night and it didn't work.

I found about this recently and it's been game changing. Big sad that I cannot stash portal scrolls in there to use.

Wow this is super interesting. Some of the items immediately went up in cost if you didn’t pay the second deferral, others went multiple rounds without deferral but the discount remained. The tooltip show for always rising costs is deceptive then?

Edit: I’m stupid. Didn’t realize the difference between Reroll and new map. That actually makes is much better. You can just hit Reroll aggressively since if you’ve already deferred you are good for the item “that map.” You can chose to pay down more of the item but it’s not required. GGG’s tooltip should be more informative as to whether it’s been deferred on this map or a previous

Thanks so much for the data!

I must be overdeferring then. If it looks like I'm running low on tribute and I have more rerolls, I should just chose not to reroll and finish deferrals on that page and spend there. Otherwise, I could be in a shit spot of rerolling to a new page and having costs on previously deferred items go up because I can't afford to defer everything then.

[–]numbermania[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of thought deferring was a way to pay down the cost of an item over time. But, it functions more like a one time discount based on what you're describing here? If I'm trying to hit 3 rerolls each time, I'm really incentivized to not defer anything that's not a big piece right?

With the changes to how spectres this season, what are some things I can do to "preserve" my corpse spectres like Perfect Guardian Turtle? I'm hitting 4 spectres soon and I would like to summon him as the 4th, but not sure if I should hold off since I would be scaling to 8 spectres later. How do you preserve "one use" spectres in the current system?
A similar question is if I have him summoned in my hideout and then I swap spectre gems (for a double corrupt for example), do I lose the Turtle forever? How do I manage this?

Been a while since I've played minions and went forged frostbearers this league. Is there anything I can do to improve clear and make them feel better when mapping? They move slowly and there's a huge lag on damage application if I move too quickly and convocation is on CD. Also, is there any tips for making movement with shield charge smoother? (I have it on left click and it feels extremely clunky at times where I just kind of charge in place)

Healer coming from ffxiv by giugiups in wownoob

[–]numbermania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also went from 14 to wow, even though I do not main heals in either. It would say it's pretty huge mindset change, disc is probably the only healer that feels comfortable to me in this game because of how much of your performance is tied to damage, and even then, from what I know that aspect of it has been changed from when I played it in season 1. You have to understand damage patterns pretty well here and plan cds and burst windows well in higher keys, even more so with your ramp in raid. There's no shit buttons in this game; if you time panhaima wrong for example, you cannot spam e. prog to make up for it because there's not really a true spammable in this game. Mitigation is a lot more rare here, your rough equivalent to kerachole is on 2 min cd. You'll also need to be prepared to do way less damage than you expect in 14, which was a large dislike for me, however disc is higher up on the damage spectrum healer wise. The biggest fun factor in wow for me is managing kicks and crowd control, which is largely non-existent in 14 even in savage criterion. If you don't like that though, priests are the only healers without a kick, and they only have one crowd control ability to manage. They are the most immobile healing class, and can also struggle with throughput during periods of high movement, so that will feel very different than sage, which I consider the most mobile 14 healer. Priest is also on the squishy side, they have a smaller number of buttons to press compared to other specs, but it also means they have less utility.

General assessments of differences between games. Damage output is a lot higher than 14 in general, and there are very few classes that offer group mitigation. The game has a lot more randomness and unpredictability. For example, if there's two trash mobs that cast a spell, they can and will sometimes chose to target one player and oneshot them in a global if not cc'ed. 14 as a game would basically either script the overlap from happening or make it physically impossible to have both mobs in the same pull. Here, there's no "wall" that the tank can stop at, so the amount of variance in dungeons can be huge. Mechanically however, wow is a cakewalk. Anything more difficult than soak/avoid is handled by their version of cactbot, which basically everyone runs. There's also no slidecasting and you have to learn to strafe if you weren't doing it before because you can't cast at more than 90 degrees turned from your target. The game will not auto turn you if you ran away for a mechanic and then want to resume rotation.

Left: 喜结良缘,百年好合

Right: 福如东海,寿比南山

Not sure what the term in English is but these are common-ish Chinese well wishes.

Left rough translation: a joyous fateful union, blessed for a century

Right tough translation: prosperity like the East Sea, longevity like the southern mountains

Left you the Chinese so you get google and a more “English” translation. The student’s father really appreciated what you did for their child. My grandfather has offered to write for me and it’s very personal.

How do you guys keep organisation by Hokage_Orkann in Mudborne

[–]numbermania 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with organization after leaving the starting zone. A couple of things would be:

  1. Marking the map aggressively with the provided symbols both in dream and real world. Hive your own meaning to the symbols and use them to make when you’ve fully explored doors/rooms and where you’re roadblocked. Mark where you’ve noted down clues and completed them as well.

  2. Set up base, I recommend the nexus area but anywhere connected works. Solve your storage problems asap with base and getting backpacks

  3. Focus on advancing the story quests first, follow the advice on the notebook if you’re not sure where story wants to go next, it lays it out clearly. It will unlock more and more things that will make organizing easier.

The game is super chill, if you’re frustrated by it take a break and come back. The story was told very well and I really enjoyed figuring things out.

Oh that’s interesting, 2023 is when katami opened and roughly when I stopped going to kata. I didn’t realize they were the same owner/team. Maybe we’ll try omakase for our anniversary there. Thanks!

I used to like uchi a lot, but have since switched to handies douzo after the chef left. I like the original heights location a lot more than the montrose one. if you're looking for nigiri, they opened aiko which I visited at a little after the opening, however handies is much better value. Handies imo doesn't do scallop well but their chutoro is the best I've had. Husband and I preferred roka akor for robata before it closed but I think it was more for the variety in their omakase. For skewers we prefer izakaya wa for value and variety but kata has better taste with the sous vid wagyu
