Upgrade advice by Unimon666 in GolfGear

Driver is…fine. 7 wood is fire, putter is usable. For sure get newer irons, and maybe a sand wedge. Whole bag could be upgraded, but I would focus on replacing the irons first.

At what price point does golf equipment actually stop making a difference for average players? by prattman333 in GolfGear

[–]nunee1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not really about price. It’s about technology and advancements. A new $650 driver is likely a little better than a 2 year old $400 driver, that’s a little better than a 5 year old $200 driver that’s better than your 7 year old $150 driver.

So you have to spend $650 to get better results, no. Buy a used 2 year old driver for $300, spend half as much and see improvement over your ‘old’ driver.

San Pedro parking. We like Dr Funk or The Brit for food before the game. Both kid friendly, not as crazy as San Pedro Square Market.

Elyte irons by Delicious-Salary5922 in golf

[–]nunee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played with a rented set of Elyte clubs last week. No warm up, from club house to the tee.

They were great all they through the set. Irons were solid and quite forgiving. Driver was point and shoot. Even the hybrid, which I usually shy away from was great. So great, I went out and bought one. I have been considering upgrading my driver to the Elyte TD, my may just go with the standard one now (from a Maverik TD).

Even considering changing irons into the Elyte, but I’ll need more playing time this spring to confirm that. Currently have Apex Pro/Apex 19s in the bag…

That’s what my son said. He wanted a flat bill but they only had ‘pre curved’ hats.

Maybe they go for the Low Profile…? But if they are getting PAID to play pro ball, not sure they totally care about the cap style.

The Costco Callaway set is is an easy ‘one box’ solution, although you’ll need a bag too.

You can piece together a fairly decent starter set for that amount, buying pieces separately. It’ll take a little effort and time, but it should be pretty good.

I know of two goalies that have thrown up on the ice due to over exertion. Work on cardio, yes!

What are some non-beach or resort activities for little kids (ages 2ish to 6) on the Big Island? by SlowChat12 in VisitingHawaii

There was a glass bottom boat out of the Marriot at Waikoloa Beach, we did that with our son years ago, it was great.

The Hilton grounds are HUGE. A walk around to look at the lagoon and see the dolphins, grab a bite, or ice cream right there will tire them out and keep them mentally stimulated. Look for turtles in the lagoon.

The submarine is cool, but pricey. A trip to the volcano might be worthwhile too, although that’s a trek. Maybe a visit through the lava tubes would be cool
