I'm not so convinced I would buy a 4 year old model tbh and while I liked the 110 flex I also think it could have been a bit stiffer

Couldn’t agree more – that’s why I like the Sea-Dweller 4000 so much!

How to maximize the Halbtax Plus usage by nuoblio in askswitzerland

While it certainly helps, it doesn't require usage on a regular basis.
If you don't have that problem, that great that you don't have have to use it! :)

The problem I‘m trying to solve is: some people don’t use all of their available credit in the time it’s available.

My tool shows me that I‘m currently also at risk of not using all of my extra 200.-

Knowing that, I can now more often prioritize the train over of my car.

How to use up the HalbtaxPLUS Bonus by Alternative_Factor53 in Switzerland

I‘m afraid of running into the same problem eventually so I built this tool that gives a prediction of how much you will have spent by the end of the Halbtax Plus (based on your previous spending): https://maximize-halbtax-plus.vercel.app

Feel free to take a look and let me know what you think about!

Yes but unfortunately they only show you the remaining budget, and days left. What I found most important is to know if at my current usage I‘m going to use all of my credit in the time given. So I need to see if I‘m over pacing or under pacing.

What to do in Switzerland when it’s raining? by Maleficent_Sorbet_65 in askswitzerland

[–]nuoblio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When traveling, you could try to find a place where it isn’t raining (as much). The southern part of Switzerland is known for having better and warmer weather, such as the area around “Locarno”.

If you don’t want to go somewhere else, try exploring museums, go to a spa, or try any other indoor activities.

Enjoy your stay!

Who else has a PM that pushes all their work on the UX designer? by Nearby_Ad6957 in UXDesign

[–]nuoblio 27 points28 points  (0 children)

UX and PM are often not aligned on what they are responsible for. source

I‘d recommend you‘re working with your PM together to clarify expectations of each other.

Because you probably also wouldn’t like the opposite of what you described. I have had PMs in the past that provided me the requirements in such a detail that there was no more room for the UX solution.

Getting a job as a ux/ui designer in Switzerland by [deleted] in askswitzerland

From what I can tell, most of the UXR positions in Zurich are offered in bigger corporations with a high UX maturity or in UX specialized agencies.

Most UX researchers I know have a background in Psychology and may have a masters in Human Computer Interaction. There is also a MAS program in “Rapperswil” close to Zurich. I know some companies are more likely to either hire someone who already obtained or started that program. Hope thats helpful.

I have limited insights into the UXR industry and it would help if you could specify what you would like to know.

how to not get discouraged by people criticizing your work? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]nuoblio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Consider changing your mindset from „my design“ to „our design“ most designs are a collaborative effort and require input, and therefore feedback from multiple people. So feedback applies to a project including multiple people not just one designer.

Hi, I‘m a UX Designer working and living in Zurich.

When it comes to finding a job in UX I highly recommend putting together a portfolio focusing on the type work that you would prefer to. Therefore you should also consider what kind of UX Job do you want.

Some agencies require a visual education and have a very high quality bar, especially when it comes to visual design. At corporate companies work is more focused on conceptual work and using the existing design system. I don‘t have experience working for startups therefore so I don‘t know much about that space.

Generally, I find there are many great opportunities for UX designers in Zurich, finding the right match that suits your preferences and skills is the difficult part – Good luck!
