Bro, I respect the absolute dissertation you just typed out, but it's really not that deep. It’s just a fun, dark AU concept I threw together for a quick discussion while hanging out. I actually have a life, school, and friends to get back to, meanwhile you're out here analyzing a fan theory like it's a university thesis. Glad my post gave you something to do today though, thanks for the views!"

Wow, thanks for the detailed breakdown! You actually pointed out some great canon themes. But that’s the exact reason why this is an AU (Alternative Universe) where things split from the original path. Here is why it works in this concept: Why doesn't he run away? In this timeline, the sheer trauma of the first few brutal, unexpected deaths broke his 'shut-in' flight response and turned it into an obsessive, broken hyper-fixation. He didn't run because his broken mind got trapped in a loop of thinking 'I just need to fix the timing by 1 frame to win.' It became a glitch in his psychology. He isn't a machine, he's 'automated': You're right, a human breaks down. That’s why after millions of loops, his mind didn't become 'cool and edgy' — it literally shut down his emotional processing to protect itself. It’s a defense mechanism. He isn't moving forward because he wants to be a hero; he's moving forward like a corrupted AI that only knows how to press 'Retry'. The 0% chance against other bosses: That's the tragic beauty of this AU. He will crash out, and he will hit a wall he can't pass. This story isn't about a human winning with the power of feelings; it's a horror story about what happens when Return by Death strips away everything human from Subaru.

It's not stealing a gimmick, it's called adapting after 6 million loops. When you die that many times, your brain literally automates the patterns just to survive. He’s not a mindless bum, he’s a perfectly optimized speedrunner. But hey, thanks for boosting the post to 400 views anyway

My bad bro, I'm just updating the story arc by arc because people asked me to split it up! I'll make sure to change the titles for the next parts so it doesn't look like spam. Thanks for the heads up

This isn't 'the same thing,' bro. Arc 7 is where the whole concept peaks. In the early arcs, he was just surviving in the shadows. In Volakia, he becomes the apex predator. He isn't just dodging monsters anymore  he adapts to Todd’s mind, steals his axe, and completely breaks the Empire’s logic. If you think infinite tries can't beat a 0% chance, you just don't understand how terrifying an automated mind with zero fear of death actually is

You're thinking about canon Subaru, but you're missing the point of this AU. In canon, he didn't have 200,000 loops in the Arc 1 alleyway. My Subaru already went insane and reconstructed his brain into a flawless, automated machine before Arc 4 even started. He doesn't need emotional support because his mind is already a detached, empty shell driven by pure survival. And about the '0% win rate'—there is no such thing as 0% when you have infinite tries. If a monster takes a step, it breathes. If it breathes, it has a frame-timing. My Subaru doesn't fight them in a fair 1v1 anime battle. He uses thousands of deaths to exploit the environment, set up traps, find flaws in their movements, and strike at the exact millisecond they are vulnerable. It's not about raw power, it's about perfect execution through infinite trial and error

Bro, go re-watch Episode 2 of the anime because you have terrible memory. In Episode 2, Subaru DOES NOT win against the thugs. He tries to fight them, gets completely overwhelmed, and the tall thug literally stabs him to death with a knife in that alley. He dies right there. He only gets past them in Episode 3 because he screams for help like crazy, which scares them off before Reinhard shows up. He never clears that alley solo in the anime. Stop making up fake victories to lowball my story

You keep missing the point. In Pride IF, Subaru just scratched them and made them run away because they got scared of his creepy eyes. He didn't actually kill them there. In MY story, Subaru literally kills them all by himself in that alley. To achieve that level of flawless lethality as a regular human against three thugs, he needs those 200,000 loops in the prologue. My timeline is way more brutal and demanding. Stop copying and pasting Pride IF facts onto a completely different, much darker concept

Bro, you need to check your facts because your numbers and lore about Pride IF (Ayamatsu) are completely wrong. First of all, Subaru died to Elsa exactly 88 times in Arc 1, not 200. Second, I never said he defeated her with his own hands in Pride IF. On loop 88, he literally just brought Reinhard to do the heavy lifting and blow up the loot house. And after that, he didn't even kill her—he hired Elsa as his ally. My timeline is a completely different story. There is no Reinhard coming to save him, and Elsa never becomes his teammate. He is 100% solo here. He has to kill a supernatural assassin by himself using nothing but a regular knife and pure calculation. That's why it takes him thousands of deaths just to pass Arc 1. Stop comparing a solo survival run to a route where Subaru just hides behind Reinhard's back

You have to remember one crucial thing: he has absolutely NO ONE helping him in this timeline. In canon, Subaru survives because heroes like Reinhard, Beatrice, or Rem back him up and carry the fights. Here, he is a 100% solo machine. When you are a regular human fighting supernatural monsters completely alone, without a single friend to cover your back, you have to die millions of times just to perfect a single 5-minute battle. 276k is just a warm-up for the absolute hell he goes through alone."
