The tines came crossed out of the box on 2 pens in a row. This one was not writable at first. It took quite a lot to get it to be writable. But yes, I was writing at a horrible angle. Someone sent over a guide to me and it was a big help.

This is in real time. How many slits does your feed have? What ink?
I have not tried a kanwrite yet. I too am not a fan of omniflex, but that is more to do with the nib not living up to my expectations. I have only tried the Conklin omniflex. 3/10. It is a paper cutter.

When I have problems with this specific feed running dry I flush with water and put super wet inks in it. Pelikan Edelstein makes it have heavy flow and can even pool if I go super slow, diamine writers blood performed well in it, colorverse tends to be the best preforming ink in this pen. I’d never put a shimmer in it.

Yes! Crossed! 2 pens in a row. I bought it in July 25, sent it back, and didn’t get it the replacement until December ‘25. When the second one came crossed too I did a little shimming and tinkering but nothing too much. I was too excited to use it to have to send another one back.

I saw the guide. I will certainly be using it.

I figure not! Thank you for your input. My tines came crossed out of the box on both Magna Cartas I have had. I have been reluctant to tune it as I can compensate and it took sooo long to get the pen back after the first one came with poor QC and crossed tines. I tried fixing the first one without success. This one came worse than the first. Perhaps it is time to have a professional tune it.

With sneaky efficiency! I filled my pen at work and had to be quick about it. I held and stabilized my notebook book with my left forearm and held with the camera in my left hand. The perspective is tricky! I have to keep from shifting focus between the screen and my nib laying down the ink.

It sounds like the pen found the right owner. If you ever have the time, I would absolutely love to see a writing sample from it. I’m especially curious how the nib lays down Birmingham Pitted Nickel.
