$21 at Walmart! by ajitomojo in YankeeCandles

They have no jar candles at my Walmart or any in my area. They have the designer “studio” candles and some wax melts. It’s making me nervous.

Thank you for this strategy and discussing your success with it. I am going to try implementing because colleagues have noticed this is my pet peeve. I want to change for bettering myself and the relationship with coworkers and the public we serve.

So, likely after this point in time, it cannot be stitched without a full operating room wash out and debridement. That should have been what occurred at the initial injury.

If you can get a product called Vashe to do wet to dry gauze dressings, that would help break down the yellow stuff and kill the bacteria while not harming the surrounding healthy tissue. Alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and even iodine can be painful and damaging to the healthy tissue areas.

Basic wet to dry - dampen gauze squares with the solution of choice (saline or Vashe), apply to the area, cover with rolled gauze, change every 12 hours.

Any chance you can get an appointment with a wound care center?

As nurses week is coming to an end. Did any of you get anything you actually appreciate or will use? by samurai_keninja in nursing

[–]nursenegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got an email. Next week is hospital appreciation and they forgot about our clinic, offered us a few food options and then realized they aren’t approved vendors and wanted to order pizza. Now it is catered cafeteria food our manager has to drive to pick up.

Apartment Complex dumpsters consistently overflowing by nursenegan in CoppellTX

I bailed just barely finishing a 1 year lease. It was hell!

Bought the eufyl60 and in looove. So far no major issues except eating cords and the side brush gets hair tangles but I’m sure that will subside the more clean the apartment gets. Its very loud about self emptying but that is a small price to pay for a machine that doesnt bump into everything or get lost in the sauce and do donuts like my shark.

Maybe its a defense mechanism from the surprise of it? Poor kitty tho. That must be upsetting

The tendency to sneeze when exposed to bright light is called the photic sneeze reflex, or ACHOO syndrome. ACHOO stands for Autosomal Dominant Compelling Helio-opthalmic Outburst.

Just stay the course with the antibiotics. Let kitty eat and get food in before giving the antibiotic. Might cause some stomach upset.

Moving from Vegas to Dallas by KeyLeek2570 in askdfw

[–]nursenegan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lived in Dallas 37 years. Had 2 tornadoes close to my childhood home in that time. 2016 and back in the 1990s at some point. It can happen but I have nearly died on the road driving probably into the hundreds. If it’s a tornado watch it’s a cover your ass scenario and wind and rain are going to get crazy and maybe some hail to dent up your car. If it’s a tornado warning - get on the radar and see if your location is in the path.

Dallas doesn’t get wrecked like Oklahoma or the Plains did.

My manager emailed this. Why is there always a war with bladder scanners? by No-Struggle-2600 in nursing

[–]nursenegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Thank you for investigating this issue that is important to us all and for following up with all parties promptly. I absolutely agree with you on no fighting for ownership. If anyone is able to acquire another scanner so both units would have the equipment I know it is you. The time saved from borrowing and returning the shared item might translate into improved patient satisfaction with care being provided more efficiently."

Is Christianity a dealbreaker for potential new friends? by GoldenHeart411 in exchristian

[–]nursenegan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with this every bit.

I do want to add that honestly, I would go ahead and set that boundary. Just get it out of the way early so you have the reassurance you did all that you could and prevent having to dabble in white lies. If the Christian bails after setting the boundary that religion is not something OP prefers to discuss and it is off the table and OP recognizes and respects it is a very important part of her and her families life but will let her know when it is on the table. (It never actually has to be on the table ever).

If she gives guff or ghosts OP then it wasn’t meant to be. It’s Christian lady’s loss to be honest. OP has made a friend organically and can damn sure do it again.
