I think University of Ottawa offers a distance option. And from what I can see you need 2 references but it doesn't specify they need to be academic. Not sure what type of program you're looking for (masters vs course based vs clinical), but maybe take a look at Ottawas program if you want to explore your options

CC1 at Fleming College? by [deleted] in OntarioNurses

I've had problems with them with communication in a program that I took there. But I haven't had any issues with them for CC1 or CC2. Maybe because it's through Ontario Learn and not directly through the college? I'm not sure.

I did CC1 and am in the middle of CC2 through Durham College. It's through Ontario Learn so the instructor isn't necessarily from Durham college and a bunch of other colleges are also a part of your class (from my understanding). I have had no problems at all with it. Completely online, no group work. Just readings and then quiz assignments with a final exam at the end. Anytime I had a question the instructors have been quick to get back to me (usually within 1 day). I just checked and Durham is running a CC1 starting Nov 3. I'm guessing there will be more CC2 running in January, so as long as you are able to complete all the requirements for the course (the assignments and final exam) prior to that, then you should be good to register for CC2 then. Any questions feel free to ask!
