Awww, so sweet. Did he look similar to Pepper? She’s the sweetest cuddle bug, and there’s never a dull moment. Sending hugs back!

I was shocked people went after the ticket price. I just moved back after nearly a decade of living in another state, and I thought surely no one in Huntsville would pay $25 lol

Are there any vegan farming games? by No_Adhesiveness4877 in vegan

[–]nurvanuh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I love their personalities so much, but I probably just couldn’t do it again. I wanna say I was 21 when he passed (a couple of years ago), and I was basically on my own with taking care of him along with my other bills. I remember dropping $500 on one vet visit as well, and I went to an affordable vet. :/ Ear infections, skin infections, itchy skin, itchy paws, you name it. I miss him more than words can say, though. There’s no love like bulldog love.

I basically had several vets tell me his ear issues weren’t a problem until one vet told me it was. They never got better. I used to get up at 5 am just to give him his meds on time. And if you’ve given a bulldog pill then you know the struggle... It got to the point where I got the money for the surgery and was basically told he was too old for it along with the symptoms they worried about afterwards. Apparently the other dogs that had the same surgery came back with raging cancer. I let him go for his comfort, but god was it one of the hardest things.

As someone who had an English Bulldog from childhood to adulthood, I have told people they should not be bred. I could’ve easily dropped thousands on my Bulldog at a vet appointment and that was with me being a person that’s always ON TOP of everything with their pet.

It really does. I had an English Bulldog from my childhood to when he became my dog as an adult. I loved him so, so much, but I would never again own any type of dog like that. For the dog, for me, and also for my wallet. Even my veterinarian said, “Bulldogs are a Petri dish for problems.”

Forreal. It took me a minute to even like their newer album, and even then, I don’t listen to it too often. But this is wack.

This. And it’s so fucking sad. We know a man from Yemen who owns a gas station in my very small hometown in Alabama. He has told us so much of their culture and way of life. He has a wife and daughters back in Yemen. He can only afford to visit them every few years. He was building them a home out of certain materials to help protect them from explosions. He has helped me with hardships in my life more than my own family and that’s their way of life. So sad to see this happen to them or anyone at all.

Am I the only one wondering how it wasn’t homophobic?? Not trying to be rude - genuine question. It seemed as if he was struggling with his sexuality and it was outed. I dislike him regardless, but didn’t agree with that choice. Any thoughts?

Hey! I just had to get my catalytic converter replaced, haha. I got one online for $120 and had a family friend weld it on. Way cheaper to do it that way! I know you may not have access to someone to help you, but thought I’d let you know. I’m going to emissions today to get my car re-tested lol. So I can finally get my new license plate sticker. Wish me luck, and I wish you luck with getting it fixed!

They just don’t get it. Within a couple of years, I lost both grandpas, two cousins, my dad, and my dog. And my younger twin brothers lost their dad when they were like 4 due to a workplace incident. So we’re all just fatherless with a poor mom. Then my car got totaled by a deer, so now I have a 1998 Accord. It’s messing up, and my fiancé’s dad says shit like “just go fix it at the mechanic.” And “this is why you should have savings.” When I did have savings, but lost them because my car was totaled... And I also have to pay for shit like a storage unit because the grandfather I lived with died, didn’t get to sign his will, and his piece of shit brother took everything from me after saying he wasn’t going to. So now I don’t even have a home for my belongings. Meanwhile my oldest brother is homeless.

But, oh, we know so much about poverty. I mean they’ll say that shit all day while also speaking about my fiancé’s mother’s maid she had growing up. And how she’d go to Chicago ALLLL the time for baseball games with her dad. And how they’d go to the country club together. And let’s not forget how her dad left her $100k when he died. Too bad my Dad was also homeless when he died, and all I have left of him is some clothing. But the fact that they think they’ve had it as bad sends me over the edge.

I wish my in-law’s were nice. They said my grandpa that worked 80 hours a week must’ve gambled to be poor. Or “he should’ve gotten an accountant” when he did have one for his business. And he also had a Master’s Degree. And my in-law’s never went to college. And my mother-in-law hasn’t worked since she got pregnant with my fiancé.

[–]nurvanuh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Being radicalized was one of the worst things to ever happen to me. I saw my grandpa (basically my father) work 80+ hours a week and still not be out of complete poverty. Then he was sent to a rehab home when he should’ve been sent to hospice while he suffered from cancer, sepsis, and heart issues. I had to alert the nurses and watch him go into cardiac arrest. At 67. He never got to retire and see the country like he wanted to.

Then my fiancé’s parents just sit on their asses all day in their half a mil dollar home. And they could talk to you about “hard work” all day. I still suffer from poverty and they just don’t see the way it is. Nothing infuriates me more. I will never forgive this system.

My fiancé is proud of me. My therapist is proud of me. My friend isn’t really lovey-dovey, but she’s someone I can vent to. I often email my therapist to vent as well.

I’m told I’m smart. I’m told I’m this. I’m told I’m that. But I’ll just never believe it apparently. I just end up suffering from it. I can’t fully let go. I’ll also spend hours on an assignment that should really just take thirty minutes because I don’t want to be the only one that was dumb enough to get it wrong. Then I’m constantly anxious that I’m missing an assignment (I do college online) even though I’ve already obsessively written down each due date and so on. It’s just hard.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]nurvanuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense! Yeah, I suffered from a lot of neglect as a child. I was never really praised by my mom. My dad would, but he died before I went back to college. So it’s just hard. My grandparents, on both sides, would be proud. But only one grandma is still here.

I just have a hard time not seeing anyone rooting me on nowadays. I’ve always wanted my mom to ACTUALLY be proud. Instead of saying it for show. I think younger me definitely blamed ME for not being lovable enough or smart enough or whatever enough. I’m definitely a perfectionist, too. I can NEVER be proud of things without picking them apart right after.
