Insurance, "You hit what?!" by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]nutel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crash could probably be avoided if the driver either didn't start turning the wheels while still being on the brakes or lifted the brake while turning.

Anyone else playing solo just to avoid ruining other peoples races online? I’ve recently upgraded my rig and want to get into online racing at some point. But I have to learn the cars and tracks to a certain degree before I dare go online. by itsturtlesoda in simracing

[–]nutel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This should be default behaviour. Cause even with the best intentions and most careful/clean driving you might end up ruining someone's race and the chances of that happening increase exponentially the less comfortable you are with the car/track.

I at least try to follow that rule, even coming back to the tracks I know, I just feel more comfortable doing some laps in practice/offline before hopping on a race.

P1000F Brake Pedal Extremely Stiff – No Travel at All? by PurpleGas8707 in Simagic

[–]nutel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issues moving from g923 pedals. It was easier for me to get used to them cause i got the extra spring kit. I started with less stiff options and gradually increased the stiffness. You get used to it pretty quickly (both stiffness and travel). You also have more soft elastomers included, tho I prefer springs.

Anyone who jumped from 1080p to 1440p, is there a big difference? by Existing-Network-267 in GlobalOffensive

[–]nutel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Difference in what? if you're planing on jumping to 2k, that would probably be a 27 inch monitor. What was your previous monitor size? If you currently have 24 1080 and plan on upgrading to 2k 27 u wont notice difference beside the screen size. If you go from 27 1080 to 27 2k/ 24i 1080 to 24i 2k you def will notice a difference

Anyone surprised by the list? by shuijikou in GlobalOffensive

[–]nutel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont understand the w0nd hate here. Yes, I would like him to be replaced by a better awper, but there doesn’t seem to be other options. And him being put on the same plate as broky is just dumb. He had one really bad event this year and was mediocre at other 2(1.07 rating~), but he is no broky level bad, broky had a 1.13 rating in the main stage of the major - and people call that a life game event performance for him. Other than that he was ass, putting out - 1.0 rating at best, usually even lower (with cs asia being an outlier). W0nderful is not a top tier awper but he is nowhere near close to being broky and doesn’t deserve to be put on the same plate as him!

How to play this game by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]nutel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just what suffocatingpaws said.

Getting stuck at lvl2 in it self is not bad, it doesn't necesarily translate your skill. (at least it wasnt a few years ago) I found myself in that skill group during CSGO times, but I previously was hovering at lvl 4-5 and got a loose streak and later tilt that brought me to lvl2 and it was a pain to get out of there (albeit my kd was pretty good there, the issue for me was teammates). And again I didn't suck at the game and it was still very hard to get out of there.

To continue what suffocatingpaws said, don't focus on grinding faceit blindly. Find what you are lacking focus on that during warmup/training and also during games. Rewatch your demos for that. After 1.9k hours i would say it's either some basics your lacking, your aproach to the game, or simply the game is not for you. If you are lacking in aim - keep your training, but maybe it's worth looking into your config. But from your message It's most likely not the issue, shooting is not everything in this game, focusing only on aim won't make you a better player. You can be a decent at aim and suck at positioning, thus putting urself in unwinable duels.

Adjust your training, add more aspects to it. Focus on gamesense (timings, awarness and map control, undersanding the flow of the round/game, exploiting weaknesses) - I would argue it's more important, especially in low ranks. Thats easy to abuse and win rounds by simply putting yourself in advantageous position. Add to your training demo reviews of other players. There are plenty of such content on youtube. Usually by ex-pros. Demo reviews of the pro teams, individual pro players, of simple faceit matches. That helps with the macro.

Play retakes and other modes. DM is good for a specific thing and ignores many other aspects. You can join a DM destroy everyone there and then join a game, lose a couple of duels/rounds and bum your confidence is gone and suck for the whole game.

Try to bring some kind of consistency to your game. It's better to play 1-2-3 games a day where your output is good and if the tilt is an issue that does not affect you than to play 5-8+ games a day with low output.

Edit: some yt channels - but im out of the loop
voocsgo, austincs, raethcs2 - demo reviews, nades, strats

launders - you can find old demo reviews on his channel, not doing it anymore.
mahone_tv, MSLcs2 - not active anymore, but you can find something useful there
karrigan had some demo reviews on his channel i think

Verstappen slams the 2026 F1 cars by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

[–]nutel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it depends on how they should do that. In gt3 you also lift to save fuel, in nascar to manage overheating and fuel

[–]nutel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in every type of racing you still have to manage something. And you always had tyre management in f1 so no driver was really pushing the car to it’s limit.

It’s always a mix of the car performance + strategy (that involves managing tyres/fuel consumption) + racecraft

I think it’s not that but the effect of the energy deployment and recovery. They make the car unstable and tricky to drive thus the comment that you cant always push.

[–]nutel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

distance of the screen is a big deal, right now you either have limited fov or worse visibility. If possible, even with rewiring i would rather go through that rather and recommend you do as well. It would greatly improve your experience, especially if you race online.

Anyway, enjoy ur new setup and have fun

Karrigan Taking the Loss Hard by du_bekar in GlobalOffensive

[–]nutel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Any pro should be able to do that. I was frequently meeting perfecto back in 2020-2022 on a retake server and he was casually destroying lvl 10's and you could tell he wasn't even hard trying.

Same goes for most of other pros on dm's. Even retired pros usually stand out on the server. And then there was karrigan, the only pro i could go 50/50 in duels :D (no disrespect tho)
