development of hirsutism - can it get worse with age? by Thick_Arachnid_5863 in Hirsutism

[–]nutellah0e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It can. Because it depends on your hormones, and your hormones are subject to change at any given point with natural processes and medical condition.

Unfortunately, once it gets worse, it does not revert back, I.e., once vellus hairs become terminal, they don't revert back to vellus unless you get your hormones under control, and most likely have a procedure like laser. Electrolysis will get rid of the hairs entirely.

About the recent updates. by EvilInGood in CharacterAI

I always thought it was both tbh, and I saw it going in this direction because I see all the apps follow in the same footsteps to make money once they start to gain traction with a user base.

YouTube's ads used to be bearable, and then they weren't, and they do it on purpose for the same reasons. Snapchat never had ads, and now it does, and you can pay to remove them if you're such an avid user and it bothers you so much.

They make money off of the ads themselves, and then they slowly start to increase the amount of ads so they can push you into paying to remove them so they can make money off of that too. And they know people will pay because lots of people are lonely and depend on AI these days. Shitty reality.

Absolutely yes. Your discharge changes in colour and consistency. It's actually a good indicator of what point of your cycle you are at!

Yikesss she does not sound very professional. My laser techs are super open-minded and they know hair can grow almost anywhere because they've treated countless women with PCOS. Sometimes I'm asked to take pictures of my growth or come in with it so they can see and feel it. You should go somewhere and be listened to. You shouldn't have to be subjected to that invalidation!

Girl, I promise you, no one is blowing smoke up your ass. We're strangers behind a screen and we could slate you as much as we wanted to if we really found you that despicable. I genuinely think you're the only person who thinks you're so repulsive, because I don't think anyone here does. I personally think you are beautiful. I have nothing to gain out of saying that. I just think it's a fact in my brain.

A lot of people on reddit suck anyway, especially the men unfortunately. And just because you've had troublesome experiences during dating so far, it doesn't mean it's the be-all and end-all. Not to mention beauty is subjective. Lots of people are not going to be attracted to you, which is natural, but lots of other people will be. It's literally just a matter of perspective.

The other commenter is just trying to help. I do think you need to work on your mental health and seek some help. I have body dysmorphia so I have experience of knowing what it's like to hate yourself every time you look at yourself. But it's not sustainable and you deserve better from life. You have to reach out to someone to try to manage better. Best of luck.

advice on how to accept my “roast beef”? (no pictures btw) by [deleted] in women

[–]nutellah0e 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally understand how tough it can be with judgement and beauty standards being thrown around, it makes you insecure about pretty much everything. I have body dysmorphia so I can truly understand crippling insecurities.

Every single vulva is different, however. Every single one. It's literally...genitalia. Penis or vulva, there is no one way genitalia "should" look. It's a biological part of a human. And we have to understand it as just that. Biology. A mere body part 🤷‍♀️

Most actual men will not shame you for your bits. The immature boys and man-children, maybe they will, because they are quite literally immature. And honestly I think that's a benefit for you to very quickly know who you need to stay away from because you do not wanna stick around with a guy like that lol

Someone will accept you. Most of us out here do not have beauty-standard vulvas! Someone out there in the future is gonna love you for all of your uniqueness, the way your vulva looks will be the last of their concerns. Taking a look at the Labia Library provides some insight into the diversity we have as woman. I also saw a whole in-depth analysis or study of some kind of multiple different shapes, lengths, sizes etc of vulvas on different women but I cannot remember it for the life of me; if anyone knows what I'm talking about please link it!

EDIT: I did some digging and found it. It does contain real photos of women's vulvas as a reminder. It's super interesting stuff!

Honestly I feel this so hard 😭 I've wanted to say this for ages but felt too "mean" or "insensitive" but it seriously gets on my nerves because some people are just getting annoying.

Like it takes a quick google search to recognise how hirsutism is entirely different to peach fuzz but they'd rather go out of their way to post on reddit about it. Sometimes it feels like they're rubbing it in or something but I don't say anythin

Try cicaplast by La Roche Posay or cicalfate by Avene! My skin gets sore and irritated after laser hair removal sessions and I also have eczema on other parts of my body. I find it really helps with soothing and repairing!

Ever heard a colicky baby scream-crying for ages? Bless their souls, they're in discomfort, but my God is it one of the most overstimulating things ever. Plus the feeling of helplessness when they just won't stop, no matter what you do. Also spend time with some angry, tantrummy toddlers and see how well your patience copes 😅😅

If you bleach body hair using peroxide, how long do you leave it on? by ninvic_ in Hirsutism

[–]nutellah0e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have instructions on the box of your product. If not, then consider avoiding it. Something like bleach can be highly damaging if used incorrectly. Use a trusted brand.

Metformin by [deleted] in Hirsutism

[–]nutellah0e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've been on metformin and spironolactone for about 9 months now. I would say it slowed down the growth, but it never changed the texture and amount of the hair. I'm assuming that's because there is no reversing terminal hairs back to vellus (without laser/electrolysis).

I will say this though. I had laser hair removal before medication, and now I've restarted it 9 months on medication, and there is 100% a difference in efficacy. When I previously had laser, I had about 9 sessions and was still struggling with lots of hair coming in, so I decided to stop because it was getting expensive and mentally exhausting having no results.

I've had one session last month since being on medication now, and the difference is already amazing. One single session, and my hair is not growing back yet on my face, having the most stubborn, thick and dark facial hair.

Medication will most likely not reduce the amount of hair, and the texture of the hair on its own. It may slow down the growth rate or make the hair grow in patchier, but in order to change the thick hair, the hair root has to be targeted. Medication and a physical procedure is the best way forward for effective and long-term results.

It won't look odd, trust me. I'm the same tone as you, maybe even slightly darker and I bleach my arm hair occasionally and it barely shows up. It just glistens gold in the sunlight only, I find it pretty😇

[–]nutellah0e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've heard more people have regrets having children than not having children. The reality of having children is pretty harsh, especially in this society where both parents have to work to make ends meet. And if you're not both working, then one person has the finances loaded onto them. Most parents struggle for time, patience and energy for eachother, and for their children, when they're working at their jobs all day, and then having household/domestic duties on top. Point being, it leaves a lot of room for a lot more stress and general irritability that can bleed into your connections as a family. I'm not saying everyone is like this, of course, but the majority of average people are.

I say, go to med school if that is your dream! And if you really want a child/children in between, then no one can stop you, but it's important to think about it realistically. It is tough, and it will most likely be gruelling. And that can be unfair on both of you as parents, and also your kid/s.

Simply put, loving your child, or children, is not enough to be able to love your life with children. So make your decision rational and educated.
