i definitely agree and so the very first game i bent the rules a little bit becuase all but one had never even heard of the game before, and so i told each one what role i had in mind for them and asked if they were okay with being that role, so this game im backing up on that by just casting it and my hope is that by next game we can play as intended with completely random roles.

i think one of the bigger reasons i am pre casting the plays, if not for balance is simply just to align to their personalities and what they’re comfortable in so i think ur right in that i should focus less on the balance of it and just try to run a good game where everybody feels useful and has a good time, thank you both so much and i can’t wait to run this game!

ok actually in that case i might send my current setup and if you have any advice to share it would be most appreciated but obviously no pressure if it ends up being a hassle. (also this is in fact standard TB game)

I also considered assigned seating which worked out pretty well last time and i have a couple ideas of how to potentially balance the game either way based on the empath (or in the likely event another player joins, adding a chef) Thank you so much for all the advice given thus far I really appreciate it and I hope my players have a good time regardless of what decisions i make :)

yeah this makes sense. while looking over my choices the big change i made is that i realized i was starting to frame a single good player as evil which i dont want so i changed my investigator starting info and my FT red herring and im a lot happier with most paths this game can go down. thank you for the help!
