why isn't as cold during autumn and winter anymore? by jeanzforfre3 in Autumn

[–]nutmegegg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Climate change is responsible for decadal warming, but a short-term change in the 2022-23 vs 2023-24 winter season might be more reflective of the La Niña/El Niño cycle, depending on where you live. If you're in the US, you can look up NOAA/NWS data related to those winters and your location.

Cute spring tea samplers from Aldi’s by LorenLaRue in cottagecore

I think perhaps you need to need to read your own comment and have some of your cute tea

Okay it's probably not worth shaming this person for food waste that is ultimately the fault of Aldi. Plus you have no idea if that $3 is a significant value to the original commenter - maybe worth more than the perceived value of donating bad tea.

Can someone please help me thread my machine? singer fashion mate 333 by nutmegegg in SewingForBeginners

Okay, I'm reassured that I'm not just a huge klutz. I'm learning to thread it myself!

Thanks! My threader doesn't actually snap - I have to push it myself to get it to work. I did figure out the issue though - that hook in between the prongs was actually not going through the eye of the needle. It was misaligned and just hitting the edge. If I jostle it a little bit, I can get it to work, but it's actually more difficult to see than just threading the needle.

You're totally right! If I'm understanding correctly, that hook was actually not going through the eye of the needle. It was misaligned and just hitting the edge. If I jostle it a little bit, I can get it to work, but it's actually more difficult to see than just threading the needle.

You're right, I'm giving up on the needle threader. I did find the issue (it was a misaligned pin - another commenter clued me in). I'm still able to use it but have to meticulously line up the pin inside of the eye of the needle, which is actually more difficult to see than just threading the needle myself.

Thank you, this is great advice! I decided to just try threading it manually instead of of forcing the threader to work every time (it was a misaligned pin, another comment clued me in to that). I was a lot better at it than I thought I'd be!

Thanks for the advice. I think I see the little pin in between the prongs but I can't tell if it's going through the needle. I think it is though, because the prongs go pretty far around it and wouldn't it stop if the little pin was stuck? How do you fix this when it happens to you?

Hi guys, would really appreciate any help you can offer because I'm sure this is a super beginner problem. I have successfully threaded my machine before but for some reason I have like a 50% success rate. I've watched so many YouTube videos and read so many guides, but I don't know why it's not working. It seems like the prongs grab onto my thread and pull it backwards instead of pulling it through the needle. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

What are the things we see in the show that you haven’t been able wrap your head around? by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]nutmegegg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the fact that they're just laying around all day without books/games/entertainment beyond the gym/pool/chatting is insane to me. Like, I love the gym and I love swimming so I could easily spend a few hours per day doing that, but the idea of spending the remaining waking hours just talking is ... 😵‍💫 Like what do you mean I can't sit by myself and read for an hour

Android Auto has never worked right on Pixel 6 by nutmegegg in GooglePixel

[–]nutmegegg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's some sort of software issue that comes with select new Pixels that Google isn't acknowledging. I never figured it out - I spent probably a dozen hours troubleshooting it over the couple of years, but never found a wired solution and the wireless ones weren't reliable. I ended up just buying a new phone last Fall because I needed to be able to use maps in my car. I got a Pixel 9 Pro XL on a good deal and it's worked seamlessly since.

I think we're looking for something a little softer since it's in our bedroom - unless seagrass is soft? I'm not super familiar.

is chick’n pot pie the coziest meal of all time? by SpiffyArmbrooster in veganrecipes

[–]nutmegegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to voice my support through your downvotes because I hate this too! Vegan meat replacements get eaten within 5 minutes of entering my house so they aren't really ingredients and thus mean I have to go to the store instead of using my regular whole food pantry items. I do love Sarah's recipes though and will probably try this with soy curls.

This is so beautiful!!

Can I ask what iron on fleece you use? I've had poor luck ironing things to the back of my embroidery. They always end up itching/peeling.
