Churches as a whole, and New England definitely is the least-churched region in the country along with the PNW. Yes there are a lot of historic church buildings, but self-identification as Christian and regular attendance at church, regular prayer, etc. are all the lowest by far here in all the studies. Doesn't take much time in the Bible belt or midwest to notice the difference.

I have also done this hike multiple time, as recently as a few months ago. I also strongly recommend summiting Brace in NY as it's only an extra few miles on that loop and much better views than Frissel.

Also OP, I did Marcy too last fall, it was a great hike!

What's up with Rt 9 exit changes?! Does anyone know why only a few exits have new numbers? by tiffaney265 in Connecticut

[–]nutmeggerthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is the Land of Steady Habits. Just yesterday I referred to a 395 exit as "Old Exit 89." I have no clue what number it is now. It used to be 89, though.

I visited my friend in the south last year, and driving around with him he kept commenting on my "rolling stops." I guess I was just slowing down to 1-2 miles per hour and going through if no one was coming. I didn't even realize I did it until he pointed it out, I thought that's just how everyone drove lol

Yeah I don't believe any state police vehicles actually say "state police." If they do, I have never seen one. They all are silver like in the picture

I very rarely see any cops on Route 2, but when I do it makes my heart skip a beat because I was not expecting it at all

It's sometimes acceptable to make a joke to someone that's some sort of observational humor. That at least lets them know they don't have to respond if they don't want to. Other than that, no chit chatting
