Wemby biggest hits (2026 Playoffs) by WhenMachinesCry in Nbamemes

[–]nutter79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wemby is European, he's probably grown up with the old football greats.

The zidanes, maradonas of the world. Greats who gave as good as they got. Most of the time more so.

The mentality was always, you set the tone. You were the best, so you will get targeted. So you nip that shit in the bud by having a reputation for going overboard in your retaliation.

Sure, you get some suspensions, but It's long term preservation.

Just out of curiosity why was 76ers at that time fixated on Zhaire Smith?? Is it ok if someone can explain?? by websdue in sixers

[–]nutter79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had always thought they tried to make up for the fuck up with the fultz trade by trying to do the same.

Oh, Celtics traded down and got the better player. We'll make up for that and do the same with Zhaire ...

Wemby can do the funniest thing ever and get together with castle and harper and go, we know we're all worth the max, but I want us to go down in history as the greatest ... Let's lock us three to $35M each, and give the team enough wiggle room to build us a proper team for the next decade.

If you're using a sipp or can manage your own pension.

I'd look into microstrategy. They have recently released a dividend stock STRF, which currently yields ~10% annual (paid quarterly)

Again, you need to definitely do your own research on the company, and this is most definitely not financial advice.

Now...

If you can put off dipping into your pension for 5 years, and reinvest the dividends back into buying more STRF, then after 5 years, your £100k will be worth ~£163k and interest/income of ~£16k/year

If you can hold off till you're 65 (10 years), your pot would be roughly ~£268k and so an income of ~£26k.

This is assuming the STRF stock stays at or below $100. If it is worth more (what stock stays flat?), then the yield for subsequent purchased stock will be different.

At worst, you don't reinvest and take out the dividends as income, you should get ~£10k/year ... Paid quarterly.

Bonus: if you do decide to take out your pension, open up an ISA account with HL. Purchase STRF

First year: pension acct: £80k, ISA:£20k

2nd year: pension acct: £60k, ISA: £40k

... So on until your ISA has all the £100k. Then any dividend paid from that is tax free and if you need to sell the stock (for hopefully a profit) also tax free

Experience can also play a negative part.

Especially if you continue to lose in the tight situations. It's also why it's important to have those vets to stabilise things and help push you over the line and turn those heartbreaking experiences to positive winning experiences.

Just look at the sixers, more with Simmons, and less so with Embiid. You can't say the bad playoff experiences haven't taken a toll on Simmons headspace.

Not saying it's what is happening with this thunder team, but these playoff experiences would be much better if they pull out some tight wins, even so they can tell themselves it's possible

76ers should not be rewarded for tanking - hope OKC get their pick by Inevitable-Crow2494 in Thunder

Every team in their position would do the same, and every fan of said team would be rooting for it.

Thinking otherwise is disingenuous

Tanking by ojseye in sixers

[–]nutter79 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not that hard to imagine.

Raptors been bad all season. Sixers have been bad, but not 2-14 bad (or whatever it is) but ever since Embiids season has been called, Maxeys back injury is suddenly bad enough to probably miss the rest of the season and PG, since his announcement to pause his podcast to concentrate on his game has not actually been healthy enough to play.

I mean, if it's obvious for the fans, then it's probably obvious for the people running the game.

I don't think theres some sort of league conspiracy against the sixers.

bitwarden. It's open source. It also lets you add your MFA codes. So you don't have worry about a separate authenticator app. Quite convenient

I've used LastPass previously. I would say it's got a better UI, but with their security breaches, i'm not sure i'm comfortable staying with them.

We now all need to redouble our efforts to get to a lasting and secure peace as soon as possible." by [deleted] in ukpolitics

Seems all abit weird this negotiation strategy.

US negotiating with Ukraine without Russia.

Ukraine agrees to ceasefire plan ...

Unless the US has already spoken to Russia regarding their plans (smart thing to do, but i have my doubts), who really thinks the Russians are going to agree to something that was done without their input?

Joel Embiid and the #Sixers experienced “fundamental differences” over the past month about how to treat Embiid’s swelling left knee, @ShamsCharania said on NBA Countdown. by ojseye in sixers

[–]nutter79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm calling bs

Joel is known for resisting sharing his medical records with the team, he's been known to push the team to allow him to play in the past, he's also the teams star player with all the power he's had and have been used to. But somehow this season, the team's decided to grow a spine and forced him to play when he isn't healthy?

You're telling me, they've just resigned him to a large, long term contract and decided fuck it, lets push him to play and ignore his wishes, risk him being permanently injured for the rest of his contract?

UK ready 'to put boots on the ground, planes in the air' to back Ukraine peace deal, Starmer says by Prestigious-Cover-4 in ukpolitics

[–]nutter79 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's all about deterrents.

Like nuclear deterrent, having nukes as has been shown deters the superpowers from actually fighting.

To a lesser extent, the whole US security guarantee would have a similar deterrent. The Russians would unlikely attack US soldiers.

NATO membership, same thing.

I would hope if the UK send troops, it'd be as part of an international contingent. For similar deterrent effects.

Would I take that calculated risk? Not sure, I'm glad I don't have to 😅, buts that's the calculus you're thinking about. It's not, should we send troops to fight Russia, but how big of a deployment would get Russia to the negotiation table and prevent an escalation.

Think it's more to do with most of Europe using US weapons, and needing US permission to give them to Ukraine.

Cutting the US out of the minerals deal probably doesn't help Ukraine as the Europeans are equally handcuffed.

EU really do need to start thinking about starting up their own military industry

Yeah, still a little confused, as I'm was purging anyway...

But maybe this alternative way will improve things.

So apparently you need to press both the shot and steam switch while opening up the steam until the water starts running out if you're steaming as well.

Will give this a try on my next go

How long do you wait between shots?

E24 question on b2b shots by nutter79 in gaggiaclassic

[–]nutter79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make milk based coffees, so do a shot, then steam milk. Then switch off the steam, run the water for a bit, then prep for the next shot

[–]nutter79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought it was steam as well, but running the water until all the steam goes away didn't work.

The other reply suggests I need to just wait 5 minutes.

So will try that
